Keep electric cables always free from oil and grease.•

The operator‘s work place is in front of the machine.•

Wear protective gloves to avoid injuries to ﬁngers and •

hands when handling the sawblade and grooving tools,

feeding the work piece into the machine, or when

executing repairs.

Do not try to remove wood chips while the sawblade is •

running and while the sawing unit has not come to a

standstill.

Only use the machine with all the guards in place and •

all the cutting tools in perfect condition.

Remove the hoops1

Remove the cover and side parts2

Remove the enclosed parts and check them for 3

completeness:

– 1 longitudinal fence

– 1 stop rail

– 1 cap type plate

– 1 cross-cutting gauge

– 1 guard with riving knife

– 1 sawblade key

– 1 counter holder key

– 1 push stick

– 1 push handle

– 1 suction connector with closing plug

– 1 table length extension

– 4 foot caps, and

– Accessory pack with ﬁxing parts

Assembly

For reasons of packing, your scheppach machine is not

completely assembled.

Crane‘s bows, Fig. 6

The two crane‘s bows (6) are mounted diagonallytowards

each other. The machine may be lifted with belts ﬁtted

to the bows by a crane.

Assembly of the base, Fig. 2

Fold up the front and rear supporting legs (1). Fix each 1

leg with hexagon bolts, washers and nuts (2). Firmly

tighten all the bolts.

Attach four foot caps (3).2

Attach the suction connector (4) with four bolts, washers 3

and hexagon nuts.

Place the construction saw on its feet.4

Mount the tool holder for push stick, push handle and 5

sawblade key on the right-hand leg (Fig. 2.1).

Fasten the sawblade guard with riving knife, Fig. 3

Put the assembled sawblade guard with riving knife from 1

above in between the guide plate and clamping plate.

Set the clearance between riving knife and sawblade 2

to 3 – 8 mm (a), and tighten the clamping plate with

four hexagon bolts and washers (2).

Assembly of the table length extension, Fig. 4.1 and 4.2

Mount the table length extension (1) on both sides to 1

the table (2) with four hexagon bolts (3), four washers,

and four nuts. Tighten the nuts slightly by hand.

Fold out the supporting bow (4) for the table extension 2

and lock it on the table.

Adjust the table extension as follows:3

Place a ruler across the sawing table and the table 4

extension.

Adjust the height of the table extension and tighten 5

ﬁrmly to the sawing table (3) with the bolts and the

support (5).

Clamping device for longitudinal fence, Fig. 5.1

Fasten the clamping device (1) for the fence to the table

top using two cheese-head screws M 6 x 30, two washers

and two nuts M 6.

Assembly of the fence, Fig. 5.2

Screw the spacer plate to the fence with two saucer-1

head screws M 6 x 50, two washers 6 mm, and two wing

nuts M 6. Do not tighten!

Insert the stop rail and tighten it.2

Insert the fence into the clamping device.3

Tighten = Raise clamping ﬂap

Release = Press clamping ﬂap down

Place the fence into the clamping device.4

Position 1 = High fence surface

Position 2 = Low fence surface

Mount the cross-cutting gauge, Fig. 5.1

Put a saucer-head screw M 8 x 70 from below through 1

the square tube into the cross-cutting gauge and tighten

with washer 8 mm and handle.

Set the swinging part (3) in the square tube at a right 2

angle to the sawblade using the hexagon bolt (2). Use

a right-angle gauge to this purpose, and subsequently

make a trial cut.

Crane bow, Fig. 6

The two crane bows (6) are ﬁtted diagonally to each other.

On the two crane bows, carrying belts can be attached for

supporting the machine on a crane.

Sawblade guard, Fig. 7

The sawblade guard is ﬁtted ready for use.•

The sawblade guard is a protecting device and must •

always be ﬁtted.

Make sure the guard always lies on the table top by •

its own weight, but that the two bolts are tightened

without play.

Setting the riving knife, Fig. 8

The clearance between sawblade and riving knife must •

not exceed 8 mm.

After every sawblade change check the clearance and •

re-adjust, if necessary. The riving knife tip must not

be lower than the base of the uppermost tooth. We

recommend a maximum setting of 5 mm underneath

the upper sawing tooth tip.
