Flying a carpet
It is not that easy to fly a carpet - everybody who has tried it at home
knows that!
The carpet is brought into motion with the bellows.
• Take the bellows and hold the
tip of the nozzle behind your
carpet.
• Squeeze the bellows - the air
is pushed through the nozzle. Try to get the carpet moving with the
escaping blast of air.
• Try to make the carpet fly a short and a very long distance.
• Take care that your carpet flyer doesn’t fall over.
Important, the carpet may not be touched or pushed with the tip of the
nozzle.
How to play
Play in a clockwise direction.
The player who flies the furthest when “jumping into the air” may start.
If you can not agree, the youngest player starts and is the first carpet
flyer.
The carpet flyer
The carpet flyer will try to make their carpet fly into one of the bazaar
booths. They put their carpet on one of the two starting areas of the
game board and take the bellows.
The Saati
”Saati” is an Arabic word. It is pronounced ”Sa-ati” and means
”watchmaker” or “Master of Time”.
The next player, in a clockwise direction, is the first Saati, and takes both
color dice.
As soon as the carpet flyer has squeezed the bellows for the first time,
the Saati starts to roll both dice simultaneously.
Both carpet flyer and Saati carry on with their activities until
• the Saati gets a double (= two identical colors)
• or a carpet has landed in a bazaar.

Aim of the game
Five presents have to be found and transported.
Who will show they have a good memory and steer their flying carpet
above the bazaar in the best and quickest manner?
Preparation of the game
Place the game board in the center of the table and take a good look at it:
Insert the bazaar walls into the corresponding slots of the game board:
six small and two big bazaar booths are the result.
Each of the 30 little present tags shows one of the five different presents.
Sort the tags according to the color of their backs, shuffle them and put
them up in piles next to the game board.
Put the tags with the brown backs into the corresponding hollows of the
game board.
The other two piles are placed face down next to the game board.
If there are only two players the tags with the orange backs are not
needed and are placed back in the box.
Each player chooses a carpet flyer and puts it in front of them. The
players also get the five corresponding family cards. Shuffle them and put
them in a pile face down in front of you.
The two cards on top are uncoverd and placed next to one’s pile.
The bellows and dice are kept ready for use.
If there are less than 4 players the remaining carpets and family cards are
kept in the box.
The 10 magic lanterns are needed for the variation and are also kept
in the box.
