Sy stem Limitations

Y ou cannot record messages up to the
maximum recording time .
If yo u record m essages in a mixture o f
SHQ , HQ , SP and LP modes, the recordable
time varies from the maxim um SHQ mode
recordin g time to the maximum LP mode
recordin g time.
The sum of the n umber on the coun ter
(elapsed recor ding time) and the rem aining
recordin g time may be less than the I C
recorder ’ s maximum recor ding time.
Y ou cannot sp ecify the finishing point B.
Y ou cannot specify the finishing point B
before the starting poin t A has be en set.
When you set A-B r epeat playback, the set
positions move a little .

recordin g, cancel the HOLD function first.
Tip
Even if the H OLD function is activated, y ou
can stop the alarm pla y back by pres sing an y
butt on. (Y ou cannot s top normal pla y back.)
Step 2: P reparing a
P ower Sourc e
Slide and lift the bat tery compartment lid,
insert LR03 (size AAA) alkaline batteries
with correct polarity , an d close the lid.
If the bat tery compartment lid is
accidentally detached, a ttach it as
illustrated.
Tips
Messag es recorded o r alarm settings are no t
erased even when you replace the ba tteries.
When rep lacing the batteries, the clock
contin ues moving for a certain period of
time after you r emove the ba tteries.
Even if y ou do not use the IC r e corder ,
the batteries ar e consumed slightly . The
battery life in this case varies depending
on humidi t y or other en v ironmen ta l
conditio ns. U sually , the batteries last about
2 mon ths. If yo u do not int end to use the IC
recorder f or an extended period of time, it is
recommended tha t you turn the pow er off or
remov e the batteries.
Notes
Do not use mangan ese batteries fo r this IC
recorder .
When rep lacing the batteries, be sur e to
replace both bat teries with new ones.
When to replac e the batteries
The batt ery indicator in the displa y window
shows the ba ttery condition.
Battery remain indication
: Replace the current ba tteries with
new ones.

Step 3: T urning the IC
Recor der On
Slide the HOLD swi tch in the opposi te
direction from tha t of the arrow . The IC
recor der turns on, an d “ A CCESS” flashes.
T o turn the pow er off
When yo u are no t using the IC r ecorder ,
you can p reven t the batteries fro m getting
weak quickly by t urning the power off.
Slide the HOLD swi tch in the direction of HOLD swit ch in the direction of
the arrow in the s top mode. “ OFF” f lashes.
The IC reco rder turns o ff within a few
seconds.
Tips
When yo u are no t going to use the I C
recorder f or a long time, we recomm end to
turn off the IC reco rder .
When 10 min utes ha ve passed after you
have t urned on the IC reco rder and lea ve it
without do ing anything, the displa y goes off
aut omatically . (Pr ess any but ton to sho w t he
display .)
Step 4: Setting the
Clock
Remove the p rotective film on the disp lay
window befor e you use the IC recorder .
Y ou need to set the clock to use the alarm
function or recor d t he date a nd time.

has been without ba tteries for a certain

Maintaining the
moderat e volume
lev el ( A VLS)
The A VLS (Auto matic V ol ume Limiter
System) function allows y ou to listen to the
sound at a modera te volume level when
using headph ones (not s upplied). The
A VLS function limi ts the maximum vo lume
to preven t auditory issues or dis traction
and to main tain a moderate volum e level.
When the “ A VLS” is set to “ ON” in the
menu, a nd you try to adjust the v olume to a
level that exceeds the A VLS-specif ied level,
“ A VLS” indicat or lights. Y ou ca nnot adj ust
the volume t o a level that exceeds the limit.
When “ A VLS” is set to “ OFF”
T o disa ble the A VLS f unction, do the
followin g:

If the reco rded sound is too loud an d
distorted, set the micro phone sensi tivity
to (Low). On the other hand , if
the recorded sound i s too little, set the
microph one sensitivi ty to (High).
Notes
While the operation in dicator i s flashing in
orang e, do not rem ove the ba tteries. Doing
so may damag e the data.
Before making a reco rding, be sure to c heck
the battery indicato r .
If the IC r ecorder is acciden t ally rubbed or
scratched with a n object, such as your fing er ,
etc., during reco rding, no ise is recorded. T r y
to avo id touching the IC recor der until the
recordin g ends.
Keep the IC r e corder a way fro m an AC
power source , a fluorescent la mp or a mo bile
phone d uring recor ding or pla yback.
Remaining memory indication
During recordin g, the remaining m emory
indicato r decreases one by o ne.
The memory is
nearly full.
Flashing
When the rema ining time of recording
reaches 10 min utes, the last o ne of the
indication flashes.
If the rema ining recording time disp lay
mode is selected, the remaining r ecording
time display will also flash when the
remainin g time reaches 1 min ute. The
display will be chan ged au toma tically to the
remainin g time display .
When the memo ry is f ull, recordin g
aut oma tically stops and a nd “FULL ”
will fl ash in the displa y window fo r about 3
seconds. T o continue r ecording, erase some
of the messages first.

Notes
Once a recor ding has been erased, you
cannot r etrieve it.
If the message y ou wan t to erase is locked in
the menu, y ou cannot erase the messag e.

1 Select the message yo u want to erase

Display appears blurred.

No sound comes from the speaker .
