Remote control only
This timer starts play of the selected source at the selected time.
The example shows settings for play between 6:30 and 7:40.
Preparation:
Press [^] to turn the unit on, set the time (
a
page 10).
1 Press [CLOCK/TIMER] twice to select “z PLAY”.
Each time you press the button:
CLOCK
/ z PLAY / z REC / Original display

Press [u/2 REW/ ] or [1/i /FF] to select
ON time.

Press [CLOCK/TIMER] or [ENTER].

4 Select the source and set the volume.

MD, CD, tape
Insert disc or cassette and press [q/h MD], [q/h CD] or

TAPE] to select “MD”, “CD” or “TAPE”.
The radio
Press [BAND TUNER] and tune in the desired station.
An external unit
Press [EXT-IN] to select “OPT IN” or “AUX”.
Each time you press the button:
USB
/ OPT IN / AUX / P-MD
Set the external unit’s timer to the same time.

Set the volume.

When you selected “MD”, “CD” or “TAPE”
Press [g STOP/CANCEL] to stop play.
5 Press [z PLAY/z REC] to select “z PLAY”.
Each time you press the button:
TIMER-PLAY
/ TIMER-REC / TIMER-REC / TIMER OFF
MD REC TAPE REC (Canceled)
(when the record timer is set)
6 Press [^] to turn the unit off.
The timer starts in the set condition at the set time.
The volume increases gradually to the set level.
The “z
PLAY” indicator flashes while the timer is functioning.
If you set the timer incorrectly
Repeat the procedure from step 1.
To cancel the timer
While the unit is on
Press [z
PLAY/z REC] to clear the timer indicator from the display.
You cannot use the play timer and record timer at the same time.
