ranging from 80 to 240 cm.
The precision of the data detected by the scale can be altered in the following cases:
a) a high alcohol level
b) a high level of caffeine or drugs
c) after an intense sports activity
d) during an illness
e) during pregnancy
f) after heavy meals
g) in presence of dehydration problems
h) your personal data (height, age, sex) have not been input correctly
i) if you have wet or dirty feet
j) persons with swollen legs
Warning!
The percentage of body fat and water, as well as of skeletal musculature and the value of the basal
metabolic rate are to be considered merely indicative. For any further information, refer to a doctor or
dietician.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
a. How to insert batteries
This scale operates with 4 replaceable 1.5 V alkaline batteries. When the batteries are dead the display shows “LO” or
the battery symbol. Insert new batteries with the positive pole upwards.
Remove the run down batteries by lifting the cover of the battery compartment located on the bottom of the device.
Extract the batteries and dispose them as special waste at the specific collection points forecast for recycling.
For more information about the disposal of run down batteries, please contact either the store where the device containing
the batteries was purchased, or the Municipality, or the waste disposal local service.
Caution: For greater safety, children younger than 12 years should not remove the batteries.
b. Unit of measure key
With the scale switched on, select the measuring unit (kg, lb or st) via the key on the bottom of the scale.
c. Use as simple scale
1) With switched off scale, get on the scale keeping your feet parallel and your weight homogeneously distributed.
Caution: It switches on, only after you have got on it. Wait without moving until the scale measures your weight.
Do not lean on anything during the measurement to avoid modifying the detected values.
2) Get off the scale. The display keeps showing the weight for some seconds and then the scale switches off
automatically.
Each time the scale is moved and then returned to its resting surface, the first weight must not be considered
due to reorganization of the electronic board with the loading cells. Consider the second and successive
weights as in certain cases the first one could be altered for the reason mentioned above.
d. Entering personal data
This scale can store the data of 4 different people.
1) When the scale is switched off, press the “SET” key (“TOUCH SENSOR” key).
2) On the display, the message “USER 1” blinks, indicating the person “01”: Should one wish to change the memory
area (memories from 1 to 4) press the keys “” or “” (“TOUCH SENSOR” key). Once the memory area has been
selected, confirm by pressing “SET”.
3) Now the display shows the shape of a man or woman. Use the keys “” and “” to select and confirm by pressing
“SET”.
4) Then, enter your height (from 80 cm to 240 cm) using the keys “” or “” to increase or decrease the value. The
display shows the value in cm. Keeping the key pressed, the scrolling of the numbers becomes faster. Press “SET”
to confirm.
5) Use the keys ” or “” once again to enter the “Age” (from 8 to 100) and confirm by pressing “SET”.
6) Now, the scale has stored all your data; the display shows “0.0”.
Get on the scale paying attention to position your bare feet correctly on the two electrodes. The display shows the
following data:
your weight
the basal metabolic rate (KCAL)
the percentage of water present in your body (WATER)
While the display in the middle of the platform shows:
the percentage of fat present in the body (FAT)
the percentage of skeletal musculature (MUSCLE)
Now, the scale automatically compares the percentages of fat and skeletal musculature with the data related to the
previous weighing and shows their comparison on the display in the middle of the platform (the percentage of fat on
the upper part of the display; the skeletal musculature on the lower part of the display):
• in case of a decrease in the percentage of fat ( 0.5%) or an increase in the skeletal musculature ( 0.5%), the
display shows green segments
in case of a percentage change < 0.5%, the display shows yellow segments
in case of an increase in the percentage of fat ( 0.5%) or a decrease in the skeletal musculature ( 0.5%), the
display shows red segments.
The positive or negative change of the percentage of fat and skeletal musculature is indicated by the colour change
(red or green) starting from a change 0.5%. Compare the obtained percentage of fat (FAT) with the parameters given
in the “bodyfat table”: if it is outside the normal values, get medical advice. Moreover, evaluate the water percentage
(WATER) according to paragraph “% of water”, the percentage of musculature (MUSCLE) according to paragraph “%
of skeletal musculature” and the basal metabolic rate (KCAL) according to paragraph “basal metabolic rate”. Should
the data not be included in the standard range, get medical advice.
7) The scale switches off automatically after having displayed all data.
To modify the entered data, call up the involved memory area and repeat the entire proceeding.
To enter the data of another person, select a free memory area and repeat the entire procedure described above.
Caution: when you are in the “personal data entering” mode, the scale turns off automatically, if no key is pressed
within 10 seconds.
e. Calculation of weight, % of body fat, % of body water, % of skeletal musculature, and basal metabolic
rate value
1) With off scale, press the key “SET”; then, press the key “” or “” to select the desired memory area. Previously
entered data will be shown by the display, followed by “0.0kg”.
2) Get on the scale and wait for the display of your data (see item 6 of the paragraph “Entering personal data”).
Caution !
If the display does not show “0.0”, it will not be possible to read the weight and calculate body composition.
If the display shows “Err” and “Err 2”, it means that an error occurred during the measurement. Repeat the whole
procedure again. In case of overweight, the display shows “O-LD”.
In this case, remove immediately the weight from the balance in order not to damage its mechanism.
f. Memory function
This scale can store up to 10 weighing values and the data related to the body composition for each of the 4 memory
areas (1/2/3/4).
To call up the stored weighing values, press “SET”, select the wished memory area pressing the key “” or “” and
press the key “MEM”. The display in the middle of the platform shows “MEM 01” blinking.
This number corresponds to the last performed weighing; while the number “10” indicates the oldest values. the upper
display shows:
your weight
the basal metabolic rate (KCAL)
the percentage of water present in your body (WATER)
While the display in the middle of the platform shows:
the percentage of fat present in the body (FAT)
the percentage of skeletal musculature (MUSCLE)
Scroll the stored data by pressing the key “” or “”.
Caution! When the stored data are scrolled, the display in the middle of the platform does not show the coloured
segments related to the percentages of fat mass and skeletal musculature.
After the first 10 stored records (stored weighing values and data related to the body composition) per person, the oldest
data are cancelled automatically.
When “----” appears on the display, it means that there are no stored data for the selected memory area.
Caution! when the data for each of the 4 memory areas (1/2/3/4) are changed, all measurements are automatically
deleted.

MAINTENANCE
Handle your scale with care as it is a precision instrument.
Therefore, avoid to expose it to extreme temperatures, damp, knocks, dust and direct sunlight.
Do not drop the scale or knock on it.
Keep the scale away from sources of heat.
Do not jump on the scale.
Clean the scale with just a soft dry cloth.
To clean the scale never use chemical or abrasive products.
Take care that no liquids penetrate into the scale, as it is not waterproof.
Do not leave or use the scale in very damp surroundings, humidity above 85% or contact with water and other liquid
parts could cause corrosion and jeopardize the precision of the scale.
Important! Read the instructions carefully
DISPOSAL PROCEDURE (Dir. 2012/19/Eu-WEEE)
