General
The pow er is not on.
Connect the A C power co rd to the wall ou tlet securely .

operate the uni t on ba tteries.
There is no audio .
U np lug the headp hones when list ening through
speakers.
Noise is heard.
Som eone is using a portable t elephon e or other
equipm ent tha t emits radio wa ves near the unit.

unit.
CD/MP3/WMA play er
The CD does not play or “NO DISC ” is displayed
even when a CD is in plac e.
P lace the CD with the label surface up .
Clean the CD .
T ake out the CD and lea ve the CD com partment o pen
for abo ut an ho ur to dry moisture co ndensa tion.
e CD-R/CD-R W is bla nk.

I f yo u connect an incom patib le USB device, the

– F ile or fo lder names ar e not dis played o n this unit.
– P layback is not possible .
– e sound skips.
– ere is no ise.

There is no sound .

There is noise , skipping, or distorted sound.
T urn o the unit and r econnect the USB device. en
turn on the unit a gain.

distorted. N oi se may ha ve ent ered during the r ecordin g
process. Delete the le an d tr y recor ding it aga in.
The USB devic e cannot be connected to the
(USB) port
.
e connector o n the USB device or USB ca ble was not
correctly orien ted when the connection was at tem pted.
Connect the connector on the US B device or USB cable
in the correct orienta tion.
“READING” is displayed f or an extended time,
or it takes a long time befor e playback starts.
e reading pr ocess can take a long time in the
followin g cases:
– ere ar e man y folders o r les on the USB device.
– e le structure is extremely co mp lex.
– e memory is almost full.
– e internal memo ry is f ragment ed.
T o avo id the above p rob lems, we r ecommend that y ou
adhere to the fo llowing guidelines:
– K eep the total n umber of fo lders on US B device to
100 or less
– K eep the total n umber of les per folder to 100 o r less.
Erroneous display
e data sto red on the US B device may be corrupted.
Send the music data to the US B device again.
i s unit can disp lay only n umbers a nd letters o f the
alphabet. Other character s will not be display ed
correctly .
The USB devic e is not recognized .
T urn o the unit and r econnect the USB device, then
turn on the unit.
Connect the su pported USB device (See “Playa ble USB
devices” (o n this page) fo r the suppo rted device typ es.).
e USB device does not wor k pro perly . Refer to the
USB device operation m anual fo r details on ho w to deal
with this prob lem. If the p roblem persists, co ntact yo ur

Play does not start.
T urn o the unit and r econnect the USB device.
Connect a USB device tha t this unit can pla y (see
“Pla yable USB devices ”).
Play does not start from the rst track.
Set the pla y mode to No rmal Play .
MP3/WMA les cannot be played back.
e MP3/WMA les do not ha ve the “ .mp3” or “ .wma ”
extension.
e data was not s tor ed in the MP3/WMA forma t.
e USB sto rage device uses a le system other than
F A T16 or F A T32.*
e USB sto rage device is partitioned. Only the MP3/
WMA les in the rst partition can be pla yed.

Remote
The remote does not function.
Rep lace all the batteries in the remo te with new ones if
they are weak.
M ake sur e that yo u are po inting the r emote a t the
remot e sensor on the unit.
Remo ve a ny obs tacles in the path of the rem ote an d the
unit.
M ake sur e the remot e sensor is not exposed to stro ng
light such as dir ect sunlight or uorescen t lamp ligh t.
M o ve closer to the unit when usin g the remo te.
Aer trying the remedies, if you still have p rob lems,
unpl ug the A C power cor d or r emove all the ba tteries.

Do no t expose the CD to direct sunlight or hea t sources
such as hot a ir ducts, nor lea ve it in a ca r parked in
direct sunlight as there ca n be a considerable rise in
tempera ture in side the car .
Do no t stick paper or s tickers on the CD , nor scratch
the surface of the CD .

A s the laser beam used in the CD player is harmful to
the eyes, do not a ttem pt to disassemb le the casing.

personnel befor e operating i t an y further .
Di scs with non-standar d sha pes (e.g., heart, square,
star) cannot be pla yed on this uni t. A ttem pting t o do so
may dama ge the unit. Do not u se such discs.
On power sourc es
F or A C o peration, chec k that the unit ’ s operating
voltag e is identical with yo ur local power supp ly (see
“S pecications ”) and use the supplied A C power cor d;
do not use an y other type.
e unit is no t disconnected from the A C power sour ce
(mains) as lo ng as it is co nnected to the wall outlet,
even if the unit itself has been turned o.
U nplug the unit fro m the wall outlet when it is no t used
for an ext ended period of time.
W hen the bat teries are no t to be used, remo ve them to
avo id damage tha t can be caused b y battery leakage or

damage fro m the magnet.
On operation
I f the unit is b rough t directly from a co ld to a warm
location, or is p laced in a very damp room, mo istur e
may co ndense on the lens in side the CD player . Should
this occur , the unit will not o perate p roperly . In this
case, remo ve the CD and wai t about a n hour fo r the
moist ure to eva porate .
Cleaning the cabinet
Clean the cab inet, panel a nd con trols wi th a so cloth
slightly mo istened with a mild deterg ent sol ution. Do
not use an y type of abra sive pad, scouring pow der , or
solven t, such as alcohol o r benzine.
