ts well by keeping it pressed down. Remove the connection hose from the cap and from the
appliance as well. Undo the vacuuming cap from the jar. Put the ring on (17) - which came with
the jar - and screw it tight (fig. Q). To open a vacuum-sealed jar with metal lid you should use the
specic lid opener (observe that the inscriptions show to the top). Place the lid opener as shown
in fig. R. Use the lid opener carefully until the vacuum is released completely. Then remove the
metal lid. The lid can now be reused.
Vacuum sealing with bottle caps
With the bottle cap you can reclose any open wine or beverage bottle with non-carbonated
contents. Vacuum sealing provides for a slowed down oxidation of the beverage and this is why
its quality and taste are preserved longer. Put one end of the connection hose into the hose port
of the appliance (3) and the other end into the bottle cap (18) (fig. S). Press the bottle cap rmly
into the bottle. Snap the cover in place (5) using the LOCK-buttons (6) and press the START/
STOP/MAN SEAL button (1). The appliance carries out the vacuum sealing procedure automati-
cally and switches off at the end of the process.Immediately remove the connection hose from
the bottle cap and from the appliance. To release the vacuum, just pull the cap slowly from the
bottle. The sound of air rushing back into the bottle can be heard.
Manual sealing - MAN SEAL button (1)
By means of the MAN SEAL button it is possible to interrupt the vacuuming process manually
and to seal the bag early. The pump continues operating until the sealing has been finished.
This ensures that no air gets into the bag again during this process.
Press the START/STOP/MAN SEAL (1) button – while the green pilot lamp is glowing – and keep
it pressed until the red pilot lamp (2) starts blinking.
We recommend starting the manual sealing early, depending on the food. Furthermore, please
use larger bags for sensitive and damp food. Thus, the food is not impacted and liquid is not
sucked into the pump.
It is best to vacuum very sensitive food (like e. g. biscuits, pie pieces, soft berries) and liquids in
the special MAGIC VAC
®
vacuum containers available as accessories.
