POWER ON/OFF BUTTON (10)
Turns the radio on and off.
TRANSMITT/BUSY LED (19)
Indicates that the PM-1200 WP is transmitting when the light is red. Indi-
cates that the selected channel is busy during reception when the light is
green.
[S/D] SQUELCH AND DIM BACKLIGHT CONTROL KEY (9)
Pressing this key enters the SQUELCH CONTROL mode.
When this key is pressed for 2 seconds it turns the LCD backlight on.
In SQUELCH CONTROL mode use UP/DN key to set the point at which
random noise on the channel does not activate the audio circuits but a nor-
mal signal does. This point is called the squelch threshold.
PUSH-TO-TALK (PTT) SWITCH (3)
Keys the transmitter allowing you to transmit a message.
[UP] UP KEY (4)
Selects the desired channel, squelch or volume control levels. Each press
selects the next higher channel number or level. When held depressed, se-
lects channels quickly.
[DN] DOWN KEY (5)
Selects the desired channel, squelch or volume control levels. Each press
selects the next lower channel number or level. When held depressed, se-
lects channels quickly.
[CH16] KEY (18)
Used to instantly access channel 16 (The Safety Channel).
