10 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
10.1 Pre-start Inspection
▪ Make sure all safety guards are in place and all nuts and bolts are secure.
▪ Check oil level in engine crankcase.
Important! The engine is shipped from the factory without oil. You must add
engine oil before starting the engine.
▪ Inspect the air filter for cleanliness.
▪ Check the fuel supply. Do not fill the gas tank completely, allow space for fuel to expand.
▪ Be sure the spark plug wire is attached and the spark plug is tightened securely.
▪ Check depth regulator lever position.
▪ Examine underneath and around engine for signs of oil or fuel leaks.
▪ Inspect fuel hoses for tightness and fuel seepage.
▪ Look for signs of engine damage.
▪ Remove excessive debris from muffler area and recoil starter.
10.2 Start the Engine (Fig. A & H & I)
WARNING : Too much presses on the primer may cause engine flooding.
When starting a warm engine, the primer does not need to be used.
▪ When the engine is cold, priming of the engine is necessary.
▪ Push the primer bulb (Fig. A, 14) 3-4 times.
▪ Move the accelerator lever (Fig. I, 1) to the "START" position (the start position is also
normal working speed).
▪ Grasp the starter handle (Fig. H, 1) and pull out slowly, until it pulls slightly harder.
▪ Pull the rope with a rapid full arm stroke until the engine runs.
▪ After the engine starts running, move the accelerator lever (Fig. I, 1) to the appropriate
position.
10.3 Stop the Engine (Fig. A)
▪ Move the accelerator lever (2) to the "STOP" position.
10.4 Normal operation (Fig. A)
▪ The clutch engages and disengages the power from the engine to the transmission.
▪ When the clutch lever is squeezed, the clutch is engaged and power is transmitted. Push
down the locking lever (4) and squeeze the clutch lever (2), the tool will rotate.
▪ When the lever is released, the clutch is disengaged and power is not transmitted.
▪ Release the clutch lever, the tool will be stopped.
NOTE : When it is necessary to remove objects (e.g. stones, wood etc.) from
the working field, set the accelerator lever (3) to the "SLOW" position. The
engine will run at idling speed.
Never run the front-tine tiller in an enclosed area. Exhaust gas contains
poisonous carbon monoxide.
