Note: Pay attention to the correct direction of the saw chain. (Fig. 7)
▪ Fit the bar retaining nut (14) into the lower hole of the guide bar (2), then install the chain
cover (22), and fasten the bar retaining nut to finger tightness. (Fig. 8)
▪ While holding up the tip of the bar, adjust the chain tension by turning the saw chain
adjustment screw (18) until the chain links just touch the bottom side of the bar rail. (Fig.
9)
▪ Tighten the nuts securely with the bar tip held up (11.8-14.7 N.m./120-150 kg-cm). Then
check the chain for smooth rotation and proper tension while moving it by hand. If
necessary, re-adjust with the chain cover (22) loose. (Fig. 10)
▪ Tighten the saw chain adjustment screw (18).
Warning: A new chain will expand its length in the beginning of
use.
Check and readjust the tension frequently as a loose
chain can easily derail
or cause rapid wear of itself and the guide bar.
9 FUEL AND LUBRICATION
9.1 Fuel
Use regular grade unleaded gasoline mixed with 40:1 custom 2-cycle engine oil for best
results. Use mixing ratios in section fuel mixing table below.
Warning: never use straight gasoline in your unit. This will cause permanent
engine damage and void the manufacturer’s warranty for that product.
Never use a fuel mixture that has been stored for over 90 days.
Warning: 2-cycle lubricant must be a premium grade oil for 2-cycle air
cooled engines mixed at a 40 : 1 ratio. Do not use any 2-cycle oil product
with a recommended mixing ratio of 100:1. If insufficient lubrication is the
cause of engine damage, it voids the manufacturer’s engine warranty.
9.2 Mixing fuel
Add oil to an approved fuel container followed by the gasoline to allow incoming gasoline to
mix with oil. Shake container to ensure thorough mix.
Warning: Lack of lubrication voids engine warranty. Gasoline and oil must
be mixed at 40:1
