7.2 Assembly of the protective guard (Fig. A & C)
Mount the guard before using the machine.
1. Loosen the clip of the protective guard (7) by pulling lock lever of protective guard (1)
outward.
2. Turn the protective guard so that uncovered part of the disc is as far apart as possible from
the hand on main handle (3).
3. Fix the protection guard by pushing the lock lever inwards (the protective guard should no
longer be able to move).
NOTE: If the protective guard cannot be fixed firmly by the lock lever (1), use a hexagon
wrench to tighten the hexagon nut.
7.3 Installing / replacing the grinding wheel (Fig. A, B & D)
Beware – a disc which has been used may be very hot!
Important! Only ever press the spindle lock when the motor and grinding
spindle are at a standstill!
Prior to mounting/dismounting an accessory always unplug the tool.
▪ Only Use discs of the correct dimension and of good quality. (Use fiber-reinforced
cutting/grinding discs (for stone/metal) or diamond disc (for stone) only).
▪ The grinding disc may not touch the edge of the guard.
▪ Press the spindle lock (2) and turn the spindle until it engages in the lock.
▪ Keep the spindle lock pressed during this procedure.
▪ Loosen and remove the outer flange nut (a) from the spindle using the spanner.
▪ Position the disc (8) on the backing flange (b).
▪ Place the outer flange nut (a) on the spindle and tighten using the spanner.
▪ Release the spindle lock and check that the spindle is unlocked by rotating it.
▪ Make sure the disc is installed in the correct way (direction of rotation) (10), if the direction
of rotation is marked on the disc then it needs to match the marking (10) on the angle
grinder.
▪ For grinding/cutting discs up to approx. 3 mm thick, screw on the flange nut with the flat
side facing the grinding or cutting wheel.
Inspect discs regularly. Worn discs have a negative effect on efficiency of
the machine and may cause severe injury to user or damage to
surroundings. Replace the grinding disc on time.
7.4 Special attention when starting the machine
▪ Clamp the workpiece and make sure that the workpiece cannot slide from under the
machine during the cutting activities.
▪ When working with the machine, always hold it firmly with both hands and provide for a
secure stance.
▪ Always direct the cable to the rear away from the machine.
▪ Insert the mains plug only when the machine is switched off.
▪ Apply the machine to the workpiece only when switched on.
Never use the machine for grinding magnesium workpieces.
