Audible message alert
This feature allows the base unit to beep to
inform you of a new message arrival when
new messages are recorded. The base unit
beeps 2 times every minute until you listen to
the messages, if the “Base Unit Beep”
setting is turned on. The default setting is
“Off”.

New message alert by an SMS
message or a call
When new messages are recorded, this
feature allows the unit to inform you of new
message arrival by selecting one of following
2 methods:
– sending an SMS message to the pre-stored
phone number, or
– making a call to the pre-stored phone
number to inform you by announcement.
To use these features, you must:
– store a phone number to which the unit
makes the call to.
– turn on the new message alert setting for
SMS message or a call.
n When you set “SMS Setting”:
You receive an SMS message which
shows “New message from” (New
message from) and caller information. You
can edit the message “New message
from” to your desired message
(page 46).
n When you set “Call Setting”:
After you answer the call of new message
arrival, you can listen to the messages on
that call (page 47).
Important:
R The unit makes a call to the pre-stored
phone number after the new message is
recorded:
– If the call is answered, the
announcement is repeated for about 1
minute.
– If nobody answers within 1 minute, the
unit will not retry the call.

even if it has been set to “Off” beforehand
