At the end of the operation, your fax machine beeps and displays:
Important: Whenever you transmit a document, what actually appears on
the top line of the display depends on information stored in the
remote fax. The line may even be blank.
Note: If the call fails, see “Redialling,” page 2.7.
Sending a fax using MONITOR/CALL key or attached
telephone
You also can fax a document using either the monitor speaker or attached telephone
to dial the call.
Note: If you wish to use the
MONITOR
/
CALL
function, you should assign the
MONITOR
/
CALL
to one of the soft key (see “Soft keys” page 3.17).
Note: In this function, you cannot send a fax using the
FBS
glass.

Insert the document to the
ADF
.

Adjust resolution and contrast if necessary.

Obtain a dial tone, either by:
• Pressing the soft key that is assigned
MONITOR
/
CALL
… or …
• Lifting the attached telephone.
In either case, the
LCD
shows:

Enter the fax number by using the numeric keypad.
Also, enter access codes with the number, just as for a regular phone call.

When you hear fax tones from the remote unit, press
START
.
Note: If a person answers the phone, use the attached your telephone to tell
that person that you’re trying to send a fax. When you hear fax tones,
press
START
.

If you’re using the attached your telephone, hang up after pressing
START
.

to hang up. Or if you’ve pressed

to begin the fax
transmission, press
STOP
to end it.
