• Therapies with the medisana TT 205 do not replace medical diagnoses or treatments. If you suer from any
pain or illness, consult your doctor before using the device.
• If your pain does not go away or does not become any milder or if it lasts longer than 5 days, stop using the
device and contact your doctor .
• Do not use the device on the front and side of the neck as this may result in severe muscle spasms, airway
obstruction, diculty breathing, or adverse eects on the heart rhythm or blood pressure.
• Do not use the device on the chest as the application of electricity to the chest can lead to cardiac arrhythmia,
which can be fatal.
• Do not use the device over or near cancerous lesions.
• Electronic monitoring devices (such as ECG monitors and ECG alarms) may not work properly when electrical
stimulation is in use.
• Do not use the device while bathing or taking a shower .
• Do not use the device while sleeping.
• The device must not be used while operating a machine, while driving or during any activity where electrical
stimulation poses a risk of injury .
• The stimulation may only take place on normal, undamaged, clean and healthy skin areas.
• The long-term eects of electrical stimulation are unknown. Electrical stimulation cannot replace medication.
• The device must not be used if the user is connected to high-frequency surgical devices. It can lead to burning
of the skin under the electrodes or cause problems with the device.
• Do not use the device near short-wave or microwave therapy devices, as this can inuence the output power
of the device.
• Never use the device near the heart. The electrodes should never be placed on the
chest. There is a risk of ventricular brillation or cardiac arrest.
• The device must also not be used near the eyes, on the head or face.
• Do not use near the genitals!
• Do not apply to skin areas where the sensation is disturbed.
• The electrodes must not come into contact with each other during use. This can lead to malfunctions and skin
burns.
• Keep the device out of the reach of children.
• The treatment should feel pleasant. If you feel pain or nd the application unpleasant, do not increase the
intensity but rather stop the application and consult your doctor .
• The TENS mode is not eective for pain of central origin, including headache. It does not replace medical
therapy or prescribed pain relievers.
• TENS is a symptomatic treatment and suppresses the sensation of pain that would otherwise serve as a pro -
tective mechanism.
• The eectiveness depends to a large extent on the selection of a doctor qualied in the treatment of pain pa -
tients.
• The eects of stimulating the brain are unknown, which is why it should not be used on the head. The elec -
trodes should never be placed on opposite sides of the head.
• The safety of electrical stimulation during pregnancy has not been veried.
• Skin irritation or hypersensitivity reactions may occur due to electrical stimulation with an electrically conduc -
tive medium.
• Be absolutely sure to consult your doctor before using the device if you suer from heart disease or epilepsy .
• Use the device with caution or only after consulting your doctor if you tend to bleed internally , e.g. after a frac-
ture or if you have a menstrual period.
• If you have recently had surgery , consult your doctor before using the device as the stimulation may interfere
with the healing process.
• This device may only be used by one patient.
• The device must not be used in the case of dementia or other mental disorders.
• Use the device only as described in these operating instructions. Any other use is considered improper and
can lead to property damage or even personal injury . medisana assumes no liability for damage caused by
improper use. The device is intended for private use.
• In rare cases, skin irritation can occur with long-term use in the area of the electrodes.
• Do not use the device together with other devices that transmit electrical impulses to your body .
• Do not use sharp or pointed objects such as a ballpoint pen to operate the buttons of the device.
• Check the electrode connections before each use.
• Use only electrodes recommended by the manufacturer for this device.

Intended use
The medisana 3-in-1 Electrotherapy device TT 205 is intended for the following areas of
application:
• TENS mode: T emporary relief of muscle pain in the neck, shoulder , back, joints, hip, hand,
abdomen, foot, upper (arm) and lower (leg) extremities due to exercise or normal house-
work.
• EMS mode: The EMS stimulation program stimulates healthy muscles to improve and pro-
mote muscle performance.
• Massage mode: The massage program ensures muscle relaxation through vibration to
loosen tense muscles.
Contraindications
• Do not use the device if you have a pacemaker , debrillator , or other electronic or
metallic implants in your body .
These could result in electric shock, burns, electrical interference or death.
• Do not use the device if there are cancerous or other lesions in the treatment area.
• Do not treat any part of the body that has swelling, burns, inammation, rashes (e.g. phlebi -
tis, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins, etc.), wounds or sensitive areas.
• The electrodes must not be attached so that current can ow through the carotid sinus
region (front throat) or transcerebral (through the head).
• This device should not be used on excessively stressed skin areas.
• The device must not be used if there is an inguinal hernia.
• Do not treat scarred parts of the body after surgery - wait at least 10
months after surgery before using the device.
• Do not use the device in the case of severe circulation problems in the lower limbs.
Side eects
• Skin irritation or burns can occur in the area of the electrode application.
• In very rare cases, rst-time users of an EMS device have reported drowsiness or fainting. We recommend that
you use the device while sitting until you get used to its use.
• If you feel uncomfortable, reduce the stimulation intensity to a comfortable level. Contact your doctor if the
problems persist.
Scope of delivery
First, check whether the device is complete and is not damaged. If in doubt, do not operate the device and con-
tact your supplier or service centre.

Charge battery
Disconnect the connection cables from the output connections 9 (if necessary).
The device cannot be used while charging.
Connect the USB cable to the USB port 0 on the device and a suitable 5V USB charging adapter .
The charging indicator 2 lights up yellow while the device is being charged.
When charging is complete, the 2 charging indicator will light up green. Charging can take up to 2 hours.
Cable connection
Make sure that the device is switched o before you connect the cable. First connect the electrodes with the
two connection cables and then the cables with the device. On the upper side of the device there are two output
connections 9 for connecting the electrode lines. The device has two connections for two channels (A and B).
Depending on your needs, you can decide whether you want to use only one channel with one pair of electrodes
or connect both channels with two pairs of electrodes. With two pairs of electrodes you can stimulate two dier-
ent body regions at the same time.
Applying the electrodes
The reusable carrier lm can be removed immediately before use - keep it for later use. Then place the elec-
trodes according to your pain area (follow the instructions of your doctor).
In the following you will nd placement suggestions for the electrodes depending on the therapy mode. However ,
please note that each patient reacts dierently to stimulation current therapies - therefore the positioning of the
electrodes and the program selection for your requirements may dier from the therapies presented here. Y ou
should make a note of the optimum parameters for you (electrode position, program and current) for subsequent
treatments.
The recommended treatment points r for each program are shown in the illustration. The following illustrations
show an example of how to attach the electrodes to these treatment points.

NEVER insert the electrode cables into an electrical outlet or any other power source!

• The device must be switched o when applying the electrodes!
• Remove any skin cream or ointment residue before applying the electrodes. The skin must
be fat-free and dry .
• Do not stick the electrodes on injured or inamed skin areas (wounds, pimples, rashes,
redness, etc.).
• Always apply the electrodes according to your doctor's instructions and only then switch
on the device.
• Make sure that the electrodes cannot fall o during the therapy . This can lead to an unin-
tended electric shock!
• Switch o the device immediately if an electrode detaches from the skin during treatment.

Switching on
T o switch on, briey press the On/O/M button 3 . The indicator lights up and the device is in standby mode. Now
select the therapy mode using the On/O/ M button 3 :
TENS : for pain relief
(TENS = T ranscutaneous Electrical Nerve
Stimulation)
MASS : Massage to relax tense muscles
EMS : For muscle building (EMS = Electrical Muscle
Stimulation)
Then use the B button 6 to select the area of the body to be stimulated:
Select program: Press the P button 4
repeatedly to choose between the three programs 01, 02 and U1 (user-dened).
Setting the program parameters
Press and hold the P button to make settings for the selected program:
In programs 01 and 02 you can make the following settings with the [+]/[-]
button: T reatment time.
In program U1, press the P button 4 to set the
frequency , pulse width and treatment time one after the other .
T o do this, press the [+]/[-] buttons. Then press the On/O/M button 3 to
return to the main screen.
Y our settings will be saved.
Now use the CH button 7 to select the channel (Channel A, Channel B or both channels):
Now press the + button 5 to increase the intensity of the selected channel. The corresponding intensity level
is shown on the display . Each time you press the + button 5 , you can increase the intensity further up to the
maximum level 40:
With the - button 8 the intensity is reduced accordingly . If you reduce the intensity to 0, the device switches to
standby mode.
During use, you can lock the device by pressing and holding the B button 6 .
The symbol w then appears on the display . Y ou cannot accidentally adjust the intensity while locking. T o release
the lock, press and hold the B button 6 until the symbol w disappears.
