ADJUSTING THE SPEED
By pressing the SPEED button (+) during the training session, the
speed will be increased by 0.1 km/h (mph).
By pressing the SPEED button (-) during the training session, the
speed will be reduced by 0.1 km/h (mph).
When pressing this button for a longer time, the values will
automatically be displayed.
In addition, there are a SPEED button (+) and a SPEED button (-)
at the right handrail.
ADJUSTING THE INCLINATION
By pressing the INCLINE button (+), you can increase the gra-
dient angle by 1 %.
By pressing the INCLINE button (-), you can reduce the gradient
angle by 1 %.
When pressing this button for a longer time, the values will
automatically be displayed.
In addition to the inclination adjusting buttons at the computer,
there is an INCLINE button (+) and an INCLINE button (-) at the
left handrail.
Due to safety reasons, the gradient angle can only be adjusted
manually. The following four programs are an exception: P3,
P4, P5 = (inclination programs) and P9 = HRC (heart rate con-
trol program) over speed and inclination. In these programs, the
gradient angle will be adjusted automatically. The gradient
angle can only be adjusted in the run mode. After pressing the
START button, the gradient angle will automatically be set to its
original position.
PROGRAM SELECTION
If the treadmill is ready for use (flashing heart symbol in the
DOT matrix) you can select different programs with the help of
the PROGRAM button.
SCAN FUNCTION
The SCAN function allows the user to display the values for
calories and time or pulse and distance in turn. After the start of
the program, the values for calories or the pulse will be automa-
tically displayed in the CALORIES/PULSE display, and the
values for time and distance will be automatically displayed in
the TIME/DISTANCE display. The respective LED for the current
display will be lit. After pressing the SCAN button for a short
time, the displays will be permanent.
When pressing the SCAN button again, you can return to the
other display mode.
When pressing the SCAN button for a longer time, you can
switch to the automatic mode again.
RECOVERY FUNCTION
If a pulse signal will be activated during the training, you can
activate the RECOVERY function with this button. The treadmill will
be stopped. "REC" will be displayed in the DOT matrix. The
stress pulse will be measured; one minute later, the recovery pulse
will be measured as well. On the basis of these values, a fitness
level will be determined. The improvement of this value is an indi-
cator for an improved fitness (with an equivalent training).
A countdown of 60 seconds is running in the TIME display. In
the INCLINE display, the stress pulse will be saved. The recove-
ry pulse is displayed in the SPEED display, and the fitness level
is calculated in the TIME display. After a period of approx. 16
seconds, the display switches into the pause mode.
Calculation of the fitness score:
Score = 6 -
(
10 x (P1 – P2)
)
2
P1
P1= Load pulse, P2 = Recovery pulse
1.0 = Excellent
F6.0 = Unsatisfactory
STOP AND PAUSE FUNCTION
If you press the STOP button during your training session, the
program will be interrupted and the pause mode will be activa-
ted. "STOP" will be displayed in the DOT matrix. The displays
show the time of the training session, the covered distance as
well as the burned calories. If you press the START button within
two minutes after having selected the pause mode, the treadmill
will be restarted and returns to the speed which had been acti-
vated before switching to the pause function. The training
values will continue to be counted and started from the point
when the counting process was stopped.
If you press the STOP button for a period of 3 seconds during
the pause mode, the program will be finished. If you do not
press the STOP or the START button within a period of two minu-
tes, the treadmill will stop the training program automatically.
CALCULATION OF THE CALORIES
The calculated calories are only a reference value. The calculated
value is not a medical value.
MEASURING THE PULSE
The treadmill is equipped with a hand pulse sensor. To ensure a
good detection of the hand pulse, both hand pulse sensors can
be gripped easily and completely with both hands without
moving the hands. Movements of the hands may results in failu-
res. The PULSE display requires approx. 5 to 15 seconds to
display your current pulse level.
The treadmill is also equipped with an integrated polar compati-
ble heart rate sensor. To use the wireless pulse system, you have
to wear a chest harness for a proper transmission of the heart
rate. The chest harness for the transmission of the heart rate is
not included in the delivery of this treadmill. We recommend the
use of the chest harness POLAR Brustgurt T34. This chest har-
ness is available in specialist shops.
Please note that some materials which are used for your clothes
(e. g. polyester, polyamide) can create static charges and can
possibly prevent a reliable measurement of the heart rate.
Please note in addition that cellular phones, televisions and
other electrical devices which create an electromagnetic field
may cause problems with regard to the measurement of the
heat rate.
SYSTEM CONVERSION
To convert the treadmill computer from the metric to the English
system (and vice versa), you have to press the ENTER button for
a period of 10 seconds when the treadmill is ready for use. The
DOT matrix displays "MLS" for the English system or "KMS" for
GB
