Ⅲ Move the adjustable coffee spout to its uppermost position to
avoid damaging the spout when removing the residual water con-
tainer.
Ⅲ Take the residual water container out of the machine (Fig. 7). Be
careful as there is water in the container.
Ⅲ Remove the grounds container and dispose of the grounds.
Ⅲ Clean and replace the grounds and water containers. The red
warning lamp ( ) goes out.
9.2 Emptying the residual water container
As soon as the residual water indicator (red float) appears above the
drip tray cover, it is necessary to empty the residual water container.
Ⅲ Move the adjustable coffee spout to its uppermost position to
avoid damaging the spout when removing the residual water
container.
Ⅲ Take the residual water container out of the machine (Fig. 7). Be
careful as there is water in the container.
Ⅲ Empty and clean the water container and replace it together with
the grounds container.
9.3 Cleaning cover
We recommend that you clean the cover 2 or 3 times a week and al-
so if the machine is not going to be used for a longish period of time
(vacation etc.). You should follow the instructions below:
Ⅲ Rotate the cover to the cleaning position (Fig. 8) and take out the
removable filler funnel.
Ⅲ Tip the release button upwards and lift off the cover (Fig. 9).
Ⅲ Rinse the cover thoroughly in warm water (Fig. 10).
Release the crank handle and lower it so that the brewing
plunger, brewing sieve and gaskets can be cleaned as well.can

Ⅲ Clean the top of the machine with a brush or a damp cloth (Fig. 11).
Ⅲ Release the crank handle and pull it up.
Ⅲ Reposition the cover on the machine precisely as illustrated (Fig. 12)
until it clicks into its correct position.
Ⅲ Replace the filler funnel and rotate the cover back to the ‘Fill coffee’
position (Fig. 6).
9.4 Cleaning the water tank
If a build-up of calcium deposit becomes visible in the water tank, this
can be descaled separately. To do this, it should be removed from the
appliance.
9.5 Cleaning water/steam nozzle
Ⅲ If the water/steam nozzle becomes blocked, it can be un screwed
with the aid of a coin.
Ⅲ Clean the spout thoroughly under warm running water.
Ⅲ Screw the spout back in its correct position.
9.6 General advice on cleaning
Ⅲ When the machine is not being used, the filler funnel should be
covered with its dust protection lid.
Ⅲ Never use sharp or abrasive articles or corrosive chemicals to clean
your machine.
Ⅲ Wipe down the casing inside and out using a soft damp cloth.
