Only use fresh tap water. Never fill the tank with milk, mineral
water or any other liquid.
6.2 Filling with coffee powder
Ⅲ Rotate the cover to the ‘Fill coffee’ position (Fig. 1).
Ⅲ Put a maximum of two level tablespoons of coffee powder in the
filler funnel. The strength of the coffee depends on how much cof-
fee is used.
Only use ground coffee powder. Never fill the funnel with
coffee beans or instant coffee.
6.3 Pressing the coffee powder
Ⅲ Rotate the cover a 1/4 turn further to the ‘Brewing’ posi tion (Fig. 2).
Ⅲ Pull out the release lever and press the crank handle firmly down-
wards without forcing it until you feel it reach the stop position
(Fig. 3). Let go of the release lever. The coffee powder is now
pressed.
Ⅲ Ensure that the crank handle is securely located in the lowered
position. To do this, pull the ball on the crank handle lightly
upwards.
6.4 Brewing coffee
Ⅲ Place one or two cups beneath the adjustable coffee spout.
Ⅲ Check that the selector switch is in the coffee position ( ).
Ⅲ Turn on the operating switch ( ) and draw off coffee (Fig. 4). Due
to the build-up of the brewing pressure, the cover may lift up
slightly.
Ⅲ Once the required amount of coffee has been brewed, turn off the
operating switch ( ) again.
While coffee is being drawn off, the heater warning lamp ( )
may light up. This shows that the system is heat ing. The brew-
ing process must not be interrupted.
6.5 After preparation of coffee/espresso
Ⅲ Release the crank handle and lift it up (Fig. 5).
Ⅲ Rotate the cover back to its basic position, i.e. a 3/4 turn (Fig. 6).
Ⅲ When the cover is rotated, the coffee grounds are automatically
ejected into the grounds container. The machine is ready for use
again.
7. Drawing off water
Ⅲ Fill the water tank with fresh tap water (no further than the mark)
and replace it in the machine, ensuring that it clicks home correct-
ly.
Ⅲ Now turn on the power switch ( ). When the heater warning lamp
( ) goes out, the machine is ready for use.
Ⅲ Place a cup under the water nozzle and turn the selector switch to
the water position ( ).
Ⅲ Turn on the operating switch ( ) and draw off water.
Hot water can cause scalding.
Ⅲ Once the required amount of water has been draw off, turn off the
operating switch again ( ) and turn the selector switch back to
the coffee position ( ).
