Information about the VPS/PDC system
This system guarantees successful recording if the programme you
intend to record is delayed.
Many television stations broadcast a supplementary signal
(VPS/PDC signal) which indicates the start and duration of each
individual television program. When you are programming the
video recorder, it is therefore important to enter the times when it is
to switch on and off to the nearest minute.
If television programmes are changed or re-scheduled, then special
VPS/PDC times which must be entered instead of the scheduled
times are detailed in the television guides.
In the case of television stations which do not transmit a VPS/PDC
signal, recording depends solely on the times set for the video
recorder to switch on and off. This is regardless of whether you
confirm or delete VPS/PDC signal when you program the video
recorder.
If you want to record several programs from different television
stations, you should decide which should take priority in the case of
overlaps due to re-scheduling.
