Combustíveis recomendados
Alguns tipos convencionais de gasolina são misturados com compostos oxigenados, tais como álcool ou éter para cumprir as normas de ar
limpo. O motor foi concebido para funcionar correctamente com qualquer tipo de gasolina destinado a utilização automóvel, incluindo
gasolina oxigenada.
4. INSTRUÇÕES DE FUNCIONAMENTO
Arranque de um motor frio

Nota: Para minimizar a carga no motor durante o arranque e o aquecimento, corte o excesso de linha para além dos 13 cm.
Coloque o dispositivo de paragem do motor na posição ”MARCHA” “I”.
O equipamento dispõe de um obturador de arranque de 3 posições: “OBTURADOR”, “PARCIAL” e “MARCHA“. Desloque o botão do
obturador de arranque na posição “OBTURADOR”.
Ligue o carburador. Carregue 10 vezes na bomba (A).
É necessária uma tracção rápida e suave para conseguir uma faísca forte. Puxe com força a corda de arranque 4 vezes.
Coloque a patilha do obturador na posição “PARCIAL”.
Puxe novamente a corda de arranque 4 vezes enquanto o gatilho estiver na posição de aceleração máxima.
Quando o motor arrancar, deixe o gatilho na posição “PARCIAL” durante 10 segundos.
Desloque o obturador para a posição “MARCHA“.
Se o motor não arrancar, repita os passos 1 a 7.
Nota: Se o motor não arrancar após várias tentativas, consulte a Secção Resolução de problemas.
Nota: Puxe sempre a corda de arranque totalmente para fora. Se puxar a corda de arranque num determinado ângulo, a corda pode roçar no
olhal. Esta fricção pode tornar a corda mais frágil e desgastá-la com maior rapidez. Segure sempre a pega da corda de arranque quando
a corda voltar para trás. Nunca deixe que a corda chicoteie para trás a partir da posição esticada. Isto pode fazer com que a corda fique
desgastada, podendo também danificar a caixa do motor de arranque.

Coloque o dispositivo de paragem do motor na posição “MARCHA“.
Coloque o obturador na posição “MARCHA“.
Agarre com firmeza a pega do acelerador, coloque o interruptor de aceleração na posição “TOTAL”.
Puxe a corda de arranque com força até o motor arrancar, mas faça-o apenas 6 vezes. Mantenha o acelerador na posição”TOTAL” até
o motor começar a funcionar suavemente.
Se o motor não arrancar, coloque o obturador na posição “MARCHA“ e puxe a corda de arranque até 5 vezes. Se, mesmo assim, o motor
não arrancar, está provavelmente afogado. Aguarde 5 minutos e repita o processo com o obturador na posição “MARCHA“ e com
o acelerador totalmente aberto.
Para para o motor
Solte o gatilho da válvula de borboleta. Deixe que o motor passe para a velocidade ao ralenti. Empurre e mantenha premido o interruptor de
paragem de ignição até que o motor pare.
Procedimentos de corte
Se o equipamento dispuser de uma protecção para o acessório de corte e uma cabeça de corte, é possível cortar ervas daninhas pequenas
e relva alta em áreas de difícil acesso - junto a sebes, paredes, alicerces e à volta de árvores. Também pode ser utilizado para remover
vegetação rente ao chão, permitindo assim uma preparação mais fácil de um jardim ou a limpeza de uma determinada área.
Nota: Mesmo efectuado com cuidado, o corte à volta de alicerces, paredes de pedra ou tijolos, curvas, etc., resulta num maior desgaste do
fio.

Wear close fitting, tough work clothing that will provide protection, such as long slacks or trousers, safety work shoes, heavy duty work
gloves, hard hat, a protective face shield, or safety glasses for eye protection and a good grade of ear plugs or other sound barrier for
hearing protection.
Refuel in a safe place. Open fuel cap slowly to release any pressure which may be present in the fuel tank. To prevent a fire hazard, move
at least 10 feet (3 meters) from the refuelling area before starting.
Comply with all fire prevention regulations. Compliance with all local, state, or federal laws in the United States is the responsibility of the
user. Your unit comes with a spark arrester screen furnished in the user kit. Replacement spark arrester screen kits are available from
your distributor.
Turn the unit off before setting it down.
Always hold the unit firmly with both hands, with thumb and fingers encircling the handles.
Keep all screws and fasteners tight. Never operate your equipment when it is incorrectly adjusted or not completely and securely
assembled.
Keep handles dry, clean and free of fuel mixture.
Keep stringhead as close to the ground as practical. Avoid hitting small objects with the stringhead. When cutting on a slope, stand below
the stringhead. NEVER cut or trim on a hill or slope, etc. if there is the slightest chance of slipping, sliding or losing firm footing.
Check the area you will be trimming for debris that may be struck or thrown up during operation.
Keep all parts of your body and clothing away from the stringhead when starting or running the engine. Before starting the engine, make
sure the stringhead will not come into contact with any obstacle.
Stop the engine before examining the cutting line.
Store equipment away from possible ignition sources, such as petrol-powered water heaters, clothes dryers, or oil-fired furnaces,
portable heaters, etc.
Always keep the debris shield, stringhead, and engine free of debris build-up.
Operation of equipment should always be restricted to mature and correctly instructed individuals.
WARNING: The emission of exhaust gases is toxic.
Emergency Stopping Procedure. When it is necessary to stop engine immediately, DEPRESS the switch to stop.
This unit has a clutch, routines for checking that the cutting attachment stops turning when the engine idles.
What not to do
DO NOT USE ANY OTHER FUELother than that recommended in your manual. Always follow the instructions in the Fuel and
Lubrication Section of this manual. Never use petrol unless it is correctly mixed with 2- cycle engine lubricant. Permanent damage to the
engine will result, invalidating the manufacturer’s warranty.
DO NOT SMOKE while refuelling or operating equipment.
DO NOT OPERATE THE UNIT WITHOUTAMUFFLER and correctly installed muffler shield.
DO NOTTOUCH or let your hands or body come into contact with a hot muffler or spark plug wire.
DO NOT OPERATE THE UNIT IN AWKWARD POSITIONS, off balance, outstretched arms, or one-handed. Always use two hands
when operating unit with thumbs and fingers encircling the handles.
DO NOT RAISE THE STRINGHEAD above ground level while the unit is operating. Injury to operator could result.
DO NOT USE THE UNIT FOR ANY PURPOSES OTHER than trimming lawn or garden areas.
DO NOT OPERATE THE UNIT FOR PROLONGED PERIODS. Rest periodically.
DO NOT OPERATE THE UNIT WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS.
DO NOT OPERATE THE UNIT UNLESS THE DEBRIS SHIELD AND/OR GUARD IS INSTALLED AND IN GOOD CONDITION.
DO NOTADD, REMOVE OR ALTER ANY COMPONENTS OF THIS PRODUCT. Doing so could cause personal injury and/or damage
the unit invalidating the manufacturer’s warranty.
DO NOT operate your unit near or around inflammable liquids or petroles whether inside or outdoor. An explosion and/or fire can result.
DO NOT USE ANY OTHER CUTTING ATTACHMENT. Use only replacement parts and accessories, which are designed specifically to
enhance the performance and maximize the safe operation of our products. Failure to do so may cause poor performance and possible
injury. Use only the stringhead supplied with this product. Do not use any other cutting attachment. Use of such attachments will
invalidate your factory warranty and could result in serious bodily injury.
Additional safety precautions
Before operating your unit, please review ALL SAFETYPRECAUTIONS in this manual.
IF UNFAMILIAR WITH TRIMMING techniques, practice the procedures with the ENGINE in “OFF” position.
ALWAYS CLEAR WORK area of debris such as cans, bottles, rocks, etc. Striking objects can cause serious injury to the operator or
bystanders and also damage equipment. If an object is accidentally hit, immediately TURN THE ENGINE OFF and examine equipment.
Never operate the unit with damaged or defective equipment.
ALWAYS TRIM OR CUTAT HIGH ENGINE SPEEDS. Do not run the engine slowly when starting or during trimming operations.
DO NOT use the equipment for purposes other than trimming or mowing weeds.
NEVER raise the stringhead above knee height during operation.
DO NOT operate the unit with other people or animals in the immediate vicinity. Allow a minimum of 50 feet (15 meters) between the
operator and other people and animals when trimming or mowing. Allow a distance of 100 feet (30 meters) between the operator and
other people and animals when SCALPING with the stringhead cutter.
IF OPERATING THE UNITON ASLOPE, stand below the cutting attachment. DO NOT OPERATE on a slope or hilly incline if there is the
slightest chance of slipping or losing your footing.
