Denotes risk of personal injury, loss of life or da-
mage to the tool in case of non-observance of
the instructions in this manual.
Denotes risk of electric shock.
Carefully read this manual before using the machine. Ma-
ke sure that you know how the machine functions and how
to operate it. Maintain the machine in accordance with the
instructions to make sure it functions properly. Keep this
manual and the enclosed documentation with the machi-
ne.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electric machines always observe the sa-
fety regulations applicable in your country to reduce
the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury. Re-
ad the following safety instructions and also the en-
closed safety instructions.
- When working with the sander always wear ear pro-
tectors and a dust mask.
- Check the wood to be worked on for nails that stick out
and the like and remove them.
- Keep your hands away from the area to be sanded.
- The sander is not suitable for wet sanding.
- Check that the switch is not in the ‘on’ position before
you plug the sander in.
- Always keep the mains lead away from the moving
parts of the tool.
- Wear safety goggles, especially if you are sanding
overhead.
- Do not push on the machine, this will only slow down
the sanding.
SANDING PAINTED SURFACES.
Observe the applicable rules when sanding painted surfa-
ces. Above all take the following into account:
- If possible always use a dust extraction system.
- Dispose of dust and other waste in a responsible way.
BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHEN SAN-
DING LEAD-BASED PAINT.
- All persons entering the work area must wear a mask
to protect them from lead paint dust and vapour.
- Children and pregnant women may not enter the work
area.
- Eating, drinking and smoking is not permitted in the
work area.
IMMEDIATELY TURN OFF THE MACHINE IN
CASE OF:
1. Excessive sparks from the carbon brushes and vertici-
liosis in the collector.
2. Failure in the mains plug, mains lead or damage to the
lead.
3. Defect switch.
4. Smoke or odour of scorched insulation.
