First make sure there are charged batteries in
the sound level meter. There are 6 batteries
included in the packing. When inserting the
batteries, please pay attention to the polarity.
The position of each battery is indicated on
the bottom of the battery compartment.
Switch on the sound level meter. The device
should now show figures on it's display. On
that display you can read the sound level in
dB ( deci-Bell ). With that value is indicated
wether the measurement is filtered following
the A-curve or C-curve. Next there is the
indication "dB". Above this reading, time is
indicated.
In the top of the display there is a scale
showing the average sound level between the
values indicated at the ends of that scale the
range of wich can be changed by pressing the
yellow up and down buttons. Finally in the
top-right corner is indicated wether the unit
will integrate the measured value in a short or
longer period of time.
The device will show a reading in deci-Bell, A-
weighted. When the noise level to be
measured will be out of range, the words
"under" or "over" will appear over the values
that indicate the measuring-range at the ends
of the scale. The range can be adjusted by
pressing the yellow up and down buttons.
