6 CLEANING AND STORAGE
• Unplug the Cuisinart® and allow to cool before cleaning.
• Wash the ceramic bowl and lid in the dishwasher, or clean them
with hot, soapy water. If food is stuck to the bowl, ll it with warm,
soapy water and allow to soak before cleaning.
• If scouring is necessary, use a liquid detergent with a brush or a
nylon sponge. Do not use an abrasive sponge.
• To clean the body of the unit, use a damp cloth and a little soft
detergent. Do not use abrasive sponges or cleaning products. DO
NOT IMMERSE THE BODY IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
7 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Always follow the safety instructions to avoid injuring yourself or
damaging the unit. Use this unit according to the instructions in
this manual.
•
ATTENTION: The plastic bags in which the unit is wrapped
or which are used for the packaging may be dangerous.
To avoid all risk of suocation, keep these bags out of the
reach of babies and children. The bags are not toys.
• Never immerse the hot cooking container in cold water.
• Never fill the slow cooker bowl to more than two-thirds its
capacity.
• Never reheat frozen foods in the slow-cooker.
• Always nish cooking that has started.
• Follow the cooking instructions provided on the food
packaging.
• Do not use outdoors.
• For household use only.
• Do not place the unit in a damp or wet place.
• Do not place the unit on or near a heating appliance.
• Do not use the unit on heat-sensitive surfaces or near inammable
materials.
• Do not place the bowl in the oven; do not use on gas or an electric
element.
• Do not allow the cord to hang over the work-top, and do not let
it touch hot surfaces.
• Avoid touching the hot surfaces of the unit.
• Allow the unit to cool before storing.
• If the bowl is damaged, stop using it immediately.
• Always unplug the unit when it is not in use, when it needs to be
moved or before cleaning. To unplug the unit, always pull on the
plug, never on the cord.
• Be particularly careful if using the unit near children. Store the
unit out of the reach of children. Do not allow children to use the
slow cooker.
• Do not use the unit if it has been dropped or if it appears
damaged.
• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its after-sales service or a similarly qualified
professional to avoid danger.
• Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself.
• Use of any accessories not recommended or sold by Cuisinart®could
result in re, shock or risk of injury.
• This unit is not intended for use by people (including children)
whose physical, sensory or mental capacities are reduced, or
by persons who lack experience or knowledge, unless they are
supervised or have been given instructions beforehand on the use
of the unit by a person responsible for their safety. Children should
be supervised to make sure they do not use the unit as a toy.
• This unit meets the basic requirements of Directives 04/108/EEC
(electromagnetic compatibility) and 06/95/EEC (safety of domestic
electrical equipment), as amended by Directive 93/68/EEC (CE
marking).
• Use only accessories recommended by Cuisinart®.
