Press and hold */+ / AS/PS (21). SEARCH is displayed.
The unit starts automatic search. When a station is found
(by the scan function), it will be played for a few seconds
before the scan of the next station. The respective preset
flashes.
Press one of the numeric buttons (2-4, 18, 23, 26) to ac-
cess the respective station.
Cycle Through Saved Stations
Press */+ / AS/PS (21). All stations are briefly played in
sequence.
Press */+ / AS/PS (21) when the desired station comes
up. This station stays tuned into.
Alternative Frequencies (AF)
AF is an RDS (Radio Data System) function and is only avail-
able for FM stations. The unit searches in the background the
best frequency for the selected station.
Press the button AF (25) to turn this function on or off.
AF is displayed: Function is activated and RDS information is
received.
AF flashes: No RDS information is received.
AF is not displayed: Function is deactivated.
Program Type (PTY)
Some FM stations transmit besides the station name also the
program type.
You can search for stations with certain genres.
Press the button PTY (19).
Select the desired PTY identifier by turning the VOL
multicontroller (6). The PTY genre is displayed.
Such program types may be for example:
SPORT NEWS POP M CLASSICS
After selecting a PTY code press the button
(7). PTY SEEK
is shown on the display. The unit searches for stations which
correspond to the set PTY code and stops if a corresponding
station has been found. If no station with the respective PTY
genre is found, PTY NONE is displayed.
The PTY function is deactivated if the selected PTY genre is
no longer received. Or press the button PTY (19) to end the
function early.
Traffic Announcement (TA)
Hold down the TA/EQ (22) button to switch this mode on
or off. TA is displayed with activated mode.
In the TA mode, switching from any other operation
mode is done immediately to a radio station sending
traffic announcements at that time. TRAFFIC is shown on
the display. The volume level is adjusted to the value set
in the menu for the transmission of traffic information.
Briefly hold down the TA/EQ (22) button during playback
of traffic radio to interrupt the TA function without switch-
ing the function off.
DAB radio functions
Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) is a digital transmission
standard for the terrestrial reception of digital radio. A list of
the radio stations that can be received in Germany can be
found online at www.digitalradio.de.
NOTE:
Digital radio broadcasts can be received across 70% of
Germany (approx.) (as of Nov. 2011). However, in certain
areas, the coverage and the provision vary greatly. If the
DAB transmitter in your region cannot be received or only
received with interference (depending on the location)
you can in this case, switch over to FM mode in order to
receive these transmissions. This is however only possible if
these transmissions are broadcast via VHF. For information
concerning this, consult the radio station’s homepage.
Setting the DAB mode
Press the MODE/PAIR button (17) as often as is neces-
sary until the DAB indicator is shown on the display.
Automatic station search
Press the */+ / AS/PS button (21) in order to start the
station search. If no DAB station has been found, the NO
STATION FOUND message is shown on the display.
Selecting a found station
Press the (7) or (13) buttons in order to connect to
the found station.
Storing a station
6 stations can be stored.
Keep the numeric keys (2-4, 18, 23, 26) pressed for ap-
prox. 2 seconds to store the currently set station. A beep
will be emitted once the station has been successfully
stored (except when the BEEP OFF setting is active).
Calling up the stored settings
Press one of the numeric keys (2-4, 18, 23, 26) to call up
the stored station.
General CD Functions
Anti-shock Function (ESP - Electric Shock Protection)
The unit is equipped with anti-shock function. This function
compensates for bumps on uneven streets and ensure unin-
terrupted playback.
Insert and Remove CD
Press the release button (1) to flip down the control panel.
Insert the CD with the label up into the CD drive Flip the
control panel back up. The display shows CDP PLAY. CD
playback starts
