Proceed as follows to adjust the front derailleur correctly:
- Move the chain to the smallest sprocket of the crank using the left-hand shifter.
- Then move the chain to the middle, in your case fourth, sprocket of the rear cassette (rear
wheel) using the right-hand shifter.
- Completely screw in the adjusting nut for fine adjustment of the shift cable at the left-hand
shifter in clockwise direction.
- Back off the adjusting nut for fine adjustment of the shift cable at the left-hand twist shifter
in anti-clockwise direction for four clicks. One click corresponds roughly to a quarter turn.
- Loosen the clamping screw for the shift cable until the shift cable is completely free.
- Check whether the front derailleur is aligned with the chain. This means that there is no an-
gle between the chain line and the two deflectors of the front derailleur.
- Now adjust the distance between the chain and the inner deflector by turning screw L. Ad-
just the clearance so that a one Euro coin fits between chain and deflector.
- Then place the shift cable into the shift cable socket of the front derailleur, apply a slight ten-
sion to the shift cable by holding the shift cable between thumb and index finger and tighten
the clamping screw for the shift cable again.
