19. Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
How far can I travel with a fully charged battery?
The range of a battery depends on many different factors, such as:
- Weight of the rider
- Luggage weight
- Tyre pressure:
- Tyre type (coarse lugged tyres or smooth road tyres)
- Environment (city traffic with frequent braking and starting or cross-country riding)
- Route profile (hilly or flat)
- Surface (hard road surface or stony dirt road)
- Tailwind or headwind
- Ambient temperature:
- Age of the drive motor
- Age of the battery
- Riding behaviour of the rider
Below are two examples of how the range of 30 to 65 km is made up:
Example 1:
- Total moving mass: 120 kg
- Tyre pressure: 0.5 bar below the lower limit
- Tyre type: coarse MTB lug tread
- Environment: city traffic
- Route profile: hilly terrain
- Surface: including rough cobblestones
- Wind conditions: headwind
- Ambient temperature: 0 to 2°C
- Age of the drive motor: 3 years
- Age of the battery: 1 year
- Riding behaviour: highest assistance level
- Expected range: approx. 30 km
Example 2:
- Total moving mass: 95 kg
- Tyre pressure: between lower and upper limit
- Tyre type: smooth road profile
- Environment: cross-country
- Route profile: level road
- Surface: paved road
- Wind conditions: tailwind
- Ambient temperature: 20°C
- Age of the drive motor: 0 years
- Age of the battery: 0 year
- Riding behaviour: low to moderate pedal assistance
- Expected range: approx. 65km
