OPERATING EXTERNAL UNITS CONNECTED WITH THIS SYSTEM
To listen to or watch a source on an
external unit connected with this
system

Press the INPUT selector or button once or more
and select the position of input source (MD/AUX, VCR or
LD/TV) you will play back confirming it on the display.
* The names of input source positions correspond with
the names of terminals to connect with external units
on the rear of the main unit.
2 Play back the source.
(For a video source, turn the monitor TV on.)
3 Adjust the volume to a desired level by using the
VOLUME control.
If you prefer, use the graphic equalizer and/or the sound
field processor built into this system.
To record a source to tape
Not only a source played back on this system, but also a
source played back on an external unit can be recorded by
the built-in tape deck and/or a VCR, DAT, etc. connected
with this system.
* If you make a recording on the built-in tape deck, read
“General information” on page 41 before starting recording.
11 Select the source to be recorded by the INPUT selector
or button.
22 Play back the source and then turn the VOLUME control
up to confirm the input source.
33 Begin recording on the built-in tape deck or a VCR etc.
connected with this system.
* To make a recording on the built-in tape deck, follow
steps 3–7 on page 41.
To stop recording or to stop recording temporarily, also
refer to page 41.
Note
If the built-in graphic equalizer and/or sound field processor
is used, its effect is recorded along with the source when you
make recording on the following recording units.
● The built-in tape deck.
● The external recording unit connected to the MD/AUX
terminals on the rear of the main unit.
However, the effect of the graphic equalizer and/or sound
field processor cannot be recorded when you make recording
on the external recording unit connected to the VCR
terminals on the rear of the main unit.
