Description of symbols
Warning: petrol is
poisonous and extremely
inflammable
• Keep petrol away from
sparks, naked
flames, pilot lights,
heat sources, and
other ignition
sources.
• Transport the appliance with
an empty fuel tank or closed
fuel cock (if fitted).
•Re-fill the tank out of doors
and do not smoke during re-
filling.
• Petrol must only be stored in
appropriate containers.
• Re-filling with petrol must be
performed before the engine
is started. When the engine
is running or is hot, the tank
cap must not be removed
and the tank must not be re-
filled with petrol.
• Do not fill fuel tank comple-
tely, but fill to approx. 4 cm
below the edge of the filler
neck so that the fuel has
room to expand.
• If petrol is spilled, the engine
must only be started after the
petrol-contaminated area has
been cleaned. All attempts at
starting must be avoided until
the petrol fumes have
dispersed (wipe dry).
• For safety reasons, fuel line,
petrol tank, tank cap and
connections must be
checked regularly for cracks
and leaks and replaced if
damaged.
• Replace damaged exhaust
silencers and guard plates
on the exhaust.
• Never store the appliance
with petrol in the tank inside
a building. The resulting
petrol fumes could come into
contact with naked flames or
sparks and could be ignited.
• Allow the engine to cool
before storing the appliance
in an enclosed space.
• Do not alter the basic setting
of the engine or run at
excessive engine speeds.
• The engine-powered
appliance generates
poisonous exhaust
gases as soon as
the engine is
running. These gases may be
odourless and invisible.
Never work with the engine-
powered appliance in a
closed or poorly ventilated
room.
Danger to life through
poisoning!
• If it is necessary to drain the
tank, this must be done out
of doors by driving until
empty.
Only use original spare parts.
This applies to cutting tools in
particular. When replacing the
cutting tool, ensure that the
correct type of cutting tool is
installed.
• Ensure that all nuts, pins and
bolts are securely tightened,
so that the appliance is in a
safe operating condition.
• If the cutting tool or the lawn
mower hits an obstacle or a
foreign object, the mower
must be switched off and a
competent inspection must
be performed (if necessary,
contact authorised customer
service).
• Check the grass catching
unit regularly for wear,
damage or for loss of
functionality.
• In the interests of safety,
replace all worn or damaged
parts.
• Do not continue using
damaged or cracked tools
and do not repair - for
example by welding or
straightening - change of
shape (imbalance).
Caution!
Never reach into the working
area of the blade while the
engine is running.
Risk of injury!
