7 ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR LASERS
Warning! The laser beam potentially causes severe eye damage. Never look
or stare directly into the laser beam.
During use, do not point the laser beam at people, directly or indirectly through reflecting
surfaces.
This laser complies with class 2 according to EN 60825-1:2001. The unit includes no servicing
components. Do not open the housing for any reason. If the unit is damaged, have the
damage repaired by an authorized repair agent.

8 ASSEMBLY
▪ The bench drill comes partially assembled for packaging purposes. Lay the parts on the
bench and check against the parts list (Fig. 2).
▪ Remove the anti-corrosive oil on the uncovered metal parts using a cloth and a little
paraffin oil. Proceed with greasing the parts with machine lubricating oil.
▪ You will need:
i. Suitable personal protective equipment (not supplied).
ii. Philips head screwdriver (not supplied).
iii. 3 x M8 x 20 mm bolts, washers and nuts for workbench
mounting (not supplied).
iv. Chuck and chuck key.
v. 4 mm hex key.
8.1 Mounting the base plate (Fig. 3)(optional)
▪ Select a suitable location for the drill on a workbench. Be aware of table legs and anything
which might reduce access to the underneath of the workbench. A suitable mains supply
socket must also be accessible for the plug.
▪ Locate the base plate (7) in the selected position.
▪ Select two suitable length bolts, washers and nuts (not supplied).
▪ Using the base plate (7) as a template drill two holes through the workbench.
▪ Bolt the base plate (7) to the bench. Do not over tighten as this could crack the cast base
plate (Fig. 3)
8.2 Fitting the column (Fig. 4)
▪ Place column (5) on the base (7) and align holes in the column with holes in the base.
▪ Attach using bolt washer and spring washer hole through the column and into the base
(Fig. 4).
