▪ The closed side of the guard always has to point in the user’s direction.
Be aware the screw is tightened well enough. Check regularly if the screw
is still fixed.
7.3 Mounting a grinding disc (Fig.3)
Use grinding discs of the correct dimension. Use fibre reinforced grinding discs only. The
grinding disc must not touch the edge of the guard.
Remove the plug from the mains
▪ Press the spindle lock and turn the spindle until it engages in the lock. Keep the spindle
lock pressed during this procedure.
▪ Remove the flange nut (9) from the spindle using the spanner (8).
▪ Position the grinding disc on the flange (10).
▪ Place the flange nut on the spindle and tighten it using the spanner.
▪ Release the spindle lock and check that the spindle is unlocked by rotating it.
7.4 Mounting grinding discs and roughing discs
Fig. 4 and 5 show how to mount the flange nut (9) when using thick (4 – 8 mm) and thin (2,5 –
4 mm) discs.
8 OPERATION
8.1 Special attention when starting the machine
▪ Clamp the workpiece and make sure that the workpiece cannot slide from under the
machine during the cutting activities.
▪ When working with the machine, always hold it firmly with both hands and provide for a
secure stance.
▪ Always direct the cable to the rear away from the machine.
▪ Insert the mains plug only when the machine is switched off.
▪ Apply the machine to the workpiece only when switched on
Never use the machine for grinding magnesium workpieces.
8.2 Switching On
▪ Press the end of the ON/OFF switch down then slide it forwards until it locks.
▪ The machine will start.
8.3 Switching Off
▪ Unlock the ON/OFF switch, the machine will be switched OFF. The disc will gradually
slow down and eventually stop after a few seconds.
Do not put the machine down when the disc is still turning.
In case of interruption of the mains supply the on/off switch of the tool
needs to be released and reactuated.
