What does HD Video Monit or do ?
VT ech Wi-Fi HD Video Monitor allows you t o stay close to your baby when y ou are on the mo ve
or aw ay .
This monitor is Wi-Fi enabled, which uses y our home wireless ne twork to str eam live video and
audio thr ough the HD baby unit and 5-inch colour screen par ent unit . It allows you to maintain
a constant connection to your baby .
Y ou can also monitor from your smartphone and mobile tablet .
VT ech Wi-Fi HD Video Monitor uses MyVT ech Baby Pr o app to let y ou instantly see and hear
what’s happening with y our bab y fr om anywher e in the world.
The app can be downloaded fr om the App Stor e or the Google P layTM St ore, dir ectly fr om y our
smartphone or mobile tablet.

Charge the battery before use
The parent unit runs on an internal r echargeable batt ery
or A C power . T o continuously monitor your baby ,
keep the par ent unit connected t o A C power . With the
battery alone, the par ent unit can c ordlessly run for a
short time only .
• Befor e using the baby monitor for the first time, char ge
the parent unit battery for 12 hours. When the par ent unit
battery is fully char ged, the battery icon becomes solid .
• It tak es longer t o charge when the parent unit is turned on.
T o short en the charging time, turn the parent unit off while charging.
• The standby time varies depending on your actual use.
The parent unit turns on automa tically aft er connecting to the pow er
socket , and the w elcome screen appears. Y ou can pr ess POWE R to
turn it on or press and hold to turn it off .

industry-rec ommended best practic es to help keep y our wireless connection priv ate and
your devices pr otect ed when online. W e recommend y ou carefully re view and c onsider
complying with the follo wing tips.
Ensur e y our wireless connection is secur e.
• Befor e installing a device, ensur e y our r outer’s wireless signal is encryp ted by selecting
the “WP A2-PSK with AES” se tting in y our r outer’s wireless security menu.
Change default settings.
• Change y our wireless r outer’s default wir eless network name (SSID ) to something unique.
• Change default passwor ds to unique, str ong passwor ds. A str ong password:
- Is at least 10 characters long.
- Is comple x.
- Does not c ontain dictionary wor ds or personal inf ormation.
- Contains a mix of uppercase le tters, lower case letters, special char acters and numbers.
Keep y our devic es up to dat e.
• Download security pa tches from manuf acturers as soon as the y bec ome available. This
will ensure you alw ays hav e the lat est security upda tes.
• If the featur e is available, enable automa tic updates for future r eleases.
Disable Universal P lug and Play (UPnP) on your router .
• UPnP enabled on a r outer can limit the eff ectiveness of y our fir ewall b y allo wing other
network devic es to open inbound ports without any interv ention or appro val from y ou.
A virus or other malware pr ogram could use this function to compr omise security f or the
entire ne twork.

Direct mode
Y our bab y monit or par ent unit and bab y unit connect t o each other in Direct mode b y default,
which allows you t o immediately stream video out of the box.
It is NOT recommended to continue using Direct M ode connection after initial installation.

set up Rout er mode to connect the
units via your home Wi-Fi network to

Rout er mode
Y ou are r equired t o set up your monitor in
Router mode to enjo y liv e video streaming via
your parent unit with an enhanc ed connection.
Router mode is the r ecommended mode for
stable connectivity .
Router mode uses y our home Wi-Fi netw ork
to connect y our video monitor . It supports liv e
video streaming through the par ent unit and
smartphone app.
If y ou want to str eam live video remo tely with
your mobile device, do wnload and install the
MyVT ech Baby Pr o mobile app. With the mobile
app, your Wi-Fi r outer (not included) provides In ternet c onnectivity t o y our HD video monitor
syst em. It serves as a communic ating channel between your baby unit and mobile devic e, allowing
you t o monitor and/or contr ol y our baby unit wher ev er you ar e. For more details, see Do wnload

9. The power adaptor s are intended to be correctly
oriented in a vertical or floor mount position. The
prongs are not designed to hold the plug in place if it
is plugged into a ceiling, under-the-table or cabinet
outlet.
10. For pluggable equipment, the socket-outlet shou ld

6. Never place the baby unit(s) inside the baby’s cot or
playpen. Never cover the baby unit(s) or parent unit
with anything such as a towel or a blanket.

with your baby monitor. Try installing your baby

telephones, intercoms, room monitors, televisions,

1. Connect the power adaptor to the bab y unit and a
power supply .
2. Slide the ON/OFF switch to the left to power on
your baby unit.
• When powering up, the baby unit’s status LED turns on. It
will turn off after a while and remains off .
• The status LED is set to off b y def ault. If you want to keep
the LED on, press MENU , then go to
