In rare instances, your navigation radio may not function the way you expect it to. Be
-
fore calling the service department, please read the operating instructions thoroughly
and go through the following check list; it may be possible to quickly remedy an appa
-
rent malfunction.
Symptoms Possible cause / remedy
General
Navigation radio not functioning. No display. • Check the fuse (unit and vehicle) and the connections (see installation
instructions).
Audio/ MP3 or map CD rejected by the unit. The CD may be dirty.
• Clean the CD with a special CD cleaning fluid.
The CD does not comply with the CD player’s specifications.
• See “Notes on audio and MP3 CDs”, page 8.
The operating panel of the unit feels warm. No error. The unit always generates some heat.
The volume decreases automatically.
The volume can no longer be increased.
An integrated safety circuit prevents the temperature in the unit from
exceeding a certain value.
• Allow the unit to cool down (set low volume).
System switches off the sound during driving or
display shows the “TEL” symbol.
Speedometer signal connected to the wrong pin of the power supply
connector.
• See pin setting ISO chamber A in the installation instructions.
The telephone is not being detected even
though it has been connected to the radio.
• Call up the setup menu, select “Telephone –> Signal” and select “High” for
Nokia hands-free units.
The telephone output sounds distorted. • In the setup menu under “Telephone –> Level” configure the telephone
input amplification to the hands-free unit connected.
Unit not functioning properly/ at all on some
VW/ Audi vehicles.
Some VW and Audi vehicles have different power supply connector pin
assignments (ISO chamber A).
• Please ask your dealer for a suitable adapter.
Software loading does not start although the
correct update CD has been inserted.
Software updates can only be carried out at an internal unit temperature of
+ 5 … + 60 degrees Celsius.
Radio
Poor or no radio reception. • Check if the antenna is completely extended and correctly connected.
• Check whether the supply voltage’s negative pole (brown cable) is correctly
connected to earth (vehicle chassis).
The frequency instead of the station name is
displayed.
The unit is tuned to a station that does not transmit RDS signals or the
transmitter is too weak.
The required station cannot be tuned to using
automatic search.
The desired station is too weak.
• Set desired station manually (man. tuning).
• Check whether the antenna is completely extended and correctly connected.
Tuner standard (tuner grid) wrongly set (EUR/ USA).
• Check the “Tuner Grid” option in the “Setup –> Audio” menu.
No traffic announcements are switched through
(during CDC playback).
• Activate the traffic announcements in the setup menu under “Audio –>
Traffic info”.
CD•C / MP3
Distorted sound/ skips during CD play. Player cannot read CD. CD is damaged or soiled.
CD player does not work. In cold weather conditions, condensation may occur on the laser.
• Wait for 5 minutes until the condensation evaporates.
No sound during CD playback. Some CDs contain multimedia data which is not recognised by the unit.
• Advance the tracks until music is heard.
• See “Notes on audio and MP3 CDs”, page 8.
Problems with new copy-protected audio CDs. Some copy protection procedures are incompatible with accepted standards for
audio CDs. This is not a fault on the unit.

Zoeken resetten

  • Mijn MS4400 met firmware MO 4372SR (met supercode) geeft sinds kort een foutmelding "een of meerdere navigatieonderdelen werken niet"". Geprobeerd de software opnieuw in te voeren maar krijg dan de boodschap dat de software op het systeem 7.20 is en op de cd ook 7.20 update of herstel niet mogelijk is. boodschap: verwijder de cd om door te gaan.
    Kan geen adres invoeren en begeleiding etc werkt ook niet.
    Wie helpt mij uit de brand!!!!

  • Ik ga dit jaar naar Frankrijk, hoe schakel ik de optie flitspalen uit?
    Dit ivm de hoge boete in Frankrijk

    • Bij de aankoop van onze wagen (oktober 5 jaar geleden) kregen we een GPS toestel VDO DAYTON PN 3000 erbij. Na een paar jaar gaf die de geest.
      Vermits dit toestel in onze wagen gemonteerd was, kochten we een nieuw toestel via internet (kleinere versie, PN 2050). HOE ZETTEN WE DE OPTIE FLITSPALEN UIT ? Ook wij gaan binnenkort naar Frankrijk en hebben geen zin in een boete. Dank voor de hulp. Ons mailadres : janitas@skynet.be

    Ik heb een vraag over mijn MS4400.
    Bij het instellen van de achtergrongkleur naar bv. oranje, blijft de ingestelde kleur niet gesaved. Bij het opnieuw aanzetten van de radio is de kleur weer standaard. Kan ik de door mij gewenste kleur "saven"? Met vriendelijke groet,
