Installation
Instructions
Please fold out the
illustration page!
Installation and repairs
may only be carried out by
qualified personnel! Read
the installation instructions
carefully before starting work,
and follow them closely.
Important installation
instructions
1. The screened measuring
cable (length 6 m) must not
be shortened, lengthened, or
kinked!
2. If an aperture (4) needs to
be drilled from the gas cylin-
der container directly into the
interior of the vehicle, in or-
der for the cable to be laid
satisfactorily, this aperture
must be located at least
50 cm above the base, and
then sealed with silicone or
a similar material.
3. In order to avoid faulty
measurements, the measure-
ment cables (2) (including the
cable of the Sonatic) must be
laid at a distance of at least
20 cm from the electric leads
(for halogen lights in particu-
lar).
4. Standing on the mount will
cause the gas cylinder to be
raised up by about 20 mm. If
necessary, the securing
arrangement for the cylinder
will need to be adjusted by
the appropriate means in
order for the cylinder to be
secured in the specified
manner!
Installing the gas
cylinder mount
Fig. A: Release the gas cylin-
der securing device and lay
the mount (1) beneath the
cylinder in such a way that
the measuring cable (2) can
be guided out of the cylinder
container at a protected
point. Secure the cylinder
once again, so as to ensure
that it is set vertical on the
cylinder mount.
Mark the four securing points
or the contour line, and take
the mount out again.
Drill four securing holes (take
care to avoid any cables, gas
pipes, etc. which may be lo-
cated beneath), and secure
the measuring plates with four
screws (Fig. A: 3 - not in-
cluded in scope of supply; the
type and length of the screws
are to be selected to suit the
condition of the base).
Place the gas cylinder in posi-
tion, and secure it again in
the specified manner.
To avoid faulty mea-
surements, the mount
must be positioned horizon-
tally in the vehicle.
If a horizontal securing strap
is not going to be used any
longer, a vertical tensioning
strap must be fitted beneath
the mount (available from
specialist dealers - see Fig. A -
left-hand gas cylinder).
Electrical connection
Fig. A: The measuring cable
(2 - length 6 m) is laid
through cut-outs in the base
area of the gas cylinder con-
tainer along the gas pipe, free
of any kinks, to the location
chosen for the operating sec-
tion. In order to avoid any
damage, the measurement
cable can be laid in a protec-
tive duct (internal diameter
15 mm) in the area of the
cylinder mount.
Drill a hole with a diameter of
15 mm to feed the measuring
cable into the interior of the
vehicle, and lay the connec-
tion cable to the location in-
tended for the operating sec-
tion.
If required, cut out the instal-
lation template and glue it
over the planned installation
point. Pierce the centre of the
hole and cut out the installa-
tion aperture.
Fig. B: Lay the measuring ca-
ble (2) and the 12 V lead (6)
from the inside through the
wall and connect it to the op-
erating unit (7) in accordance
with the connection diagram
(Fig. C).
The switch (8) is intend-
ed for the Sonatic Duo
supplement set (see
Operating Instructions).
Secure the operating unit (7)
with four screws (9) and fit
the cover frame (10) in posi-
tion on it.
