12. Information on battery disposal
12.1 Battery disposal
Mandatory information as per the German Battery Ordinance
(Batterieverordnung, BattV)
Rechargeables and other batteries must not be disposed of in general
household waste. Instead, consumers are required by law to return batteries and
rechargeables they no longer use. Please only dispose of batteries and
rechargeables through the appropriate retailers or battery collection points. By
doing so, you are helping to protect the environment.
Since 1998, the German Battery Ordinance has required all citizens to dispose
of used batteries and rechargeables exclusively through retailers or dedicated
battery collection points. Retailers and manufacturers are required to take back
these batteries and rechargeables free of charge and properly recycle or
dispose of them as hazardous waste.
The Li-polymer battery installed in this device is labeled with the following
symbol (consisting of a crossed-out garbage can and the type of battery
used).
