10.4 Viewing Received Messages
While a message is being received, the display
shows Receiving SMS. Then, If the message is re-
ceived properly, the display shows New Message
until you read the message or you press any key.
If the message is set with an alphanumeric public
key, the display shows it instead of the sender’s
phone number. This is to prevent an unauthorized
person from reading the message. If you want to
read the message, you must enter the password
that you have associated with the public key in
the Key Settings menu. For further details, see the
par. 10.7.
Your phone stores up to 20 messages recently
received in the Inbox on your phone. You can
receive a message of 640 characters long. When
you access Inbox under the Message menu, you
can read and edit the received messages.
10.4.a Viewing a received message:
1. Press the SMS key to display the SMS menu
items.
Or, Press the MENU soft key to display the
Main menu items, then press the key to
choose Favorite, then press SELECT soft key
and select 5:SMS by pressing the SELECT soft
key.
2. Press the to choose 2:Inbox, then press the
SELECT soft key. The list of the messages you
have received is displayed. Already read
messages are marked with a check symbol.
3. Select a message that you want to read using
the or key, and press the SELECT soft
key. The display shows the sender’s phone
number, the message text, and the time in
which you received the message.
4. You can access the following options by
pressing the OPTION soft key:
• Delete – deletes the selected message.
• Reply – replies by sending your reply messa-
ge.
• Forward – sends the received message to
other person.
• Make a Call – allows you to call the sender
back.
• Save Number - saves the sender’s phone
number in your phonebook.
5. Press the key to exit.
