• If the electrical cordbecomesdamaged, itmust be immediately replaced byanApproved Service Centre toavoid any
danger.
• Theappliance shouldnotbeused if it has fallen,if it hasobvious damage, if it leaks orhas functional anomalies. Never
dismantleyour appliance:have it inspected byanApproved Service Centre, so as to avoid any danger.
• Neverimmerseyour iron inwater!
• Do not unplug your appliance by pulling on the cord. Alwaysunplug yourappliance:before filling orrinsingthereservoir,
before cleaning it,after each use.
• Neverleave the applianceunattended when it isconnected to apower source or if it has notcooled downfor
approximately 1hour.
• Your appliance gives off steam, whichmay causeburns. Take extracare especially whenyou are ironingclosetothe
edgeoron a corner of yourironingboard. Neverdirect the steam towardspeople or animals.
• Your ironshould be usedand placed on aflat,stable, heat-resistant surface.When you putyour irononto itsiron rest,
make surethat thesurface onwhichyou put it is stable.

What water to use?
Yourappliance has been designed to function with untreated tap water. However, it is necessarytooperatethe Self-Clean
function regularly inordertoeliminate hardwater deposits from the steam chamber.
If your water is very hard (check with your local water authority), it is possible to mixuntreated tap water with store-
bought distilled or demineralised water in the followingproportions :
- 50%tap water,-50% distilled or demineralised water.
Types of water not to use?
Heatconcentrates theelementscontained inwater during evaporation.The types ofwaterlistedbelowcontain organic
wasteormineralelements thatcan causespitting, brown staining, or prematurewear of the appliance:water from
clothesdryers, scentedorsoftenedwater,water from refrigerators, batteries or airconditioners,pure distilled or
demineralisedwater or rain water should notbeused in yourTefal iron. Also do not use boiled, filtered or bottled water.
