Frequently Asked Questions
1 - I cannot close the lid:
■
Make sure the jaws are fully open before fitting the
lid onto the pot.
2 - The pressure indicator does not move up:
■
This is normal during the first few minutes of
heating.
■
If this condition remains unchanged, check that:
The heat is turned up to the highest position.
The quantity of liquid inside the pressure cooker is
sufficient.
The pressure selector is not set to position.
The cooker is firmly closed.
3 - The pressure indicator has lifted up and no
steam escapes from the release outlet during
cooking:
■
Set the pressure selector to position:
- If no steam escapes, put your pressure cooker under
cold water to release the steam, then clean the
operation valve and release outlet.
- If steam escapes, the pressure level has not been
reached yet: set the selector back to the initial position.
4 - If steam escapes from around the control module:
check:
■
The control module is sufficiently screwed on.
■
Good condition and correct installation of the seals
on the operating and safety valves.
5 - Steam is leaking around the lid:
check:
■
The lid closes correctly.
■
The seal is correctly fitted onto the lid.
■
The seal is clean and not damaged. Replace it if
necessary.
■
Lid, safety valve and operation valve are clean.
■
The edge of the pot is not damaged.
6 - Regular beeps and --:-- display occur:
■
Check that the timer is correctly fitted onto the
control module.
7 - I cannot open the lid:
■
Check that the pressure indicator is in the low
position.
■
If not: release the steam from the pressure cooker
by cooling it under cold water, if necessary.
8 - The aspect of the interior has changed:
■
If it is blackened: clean it with a special product for
cleaning stainless steel.
■
If it shows iridescent glints: clean it with vinegar or
a special stainless cleaning product.
Safety warnings
1 - Place the pressure cooker with the opening
button facing you.
2 - Beware of the steam jet during steam release.
3 - Steam is very hot when escaping from the
operation valve.
4 - When the pressure indicator starts going down,
steam escapes from its outlet for a few seconds: do
not leave your hand above the outlet.
5 - Use the handles on the pot to move the pressure
cooker. Never use the lid knob to move it.
6 - Do not leave food inside the pressure cooker.
7 - Never use bleach or chlorinated products, since
they may alter the stainless steel quality.
8 - Remove the timer before cleaning the pressure
cooker.
9 - Never open the control module.
10 - Do not leave the lid to soak in water with the
module on.
11 - Replace the lid seal once a year.
12 - Have your pressure cooker serviced at a SEB
Approved Service Centre every 10 years.
13 - Seals are fragile: do not allow them to come
into contact with sharp or pointed objects.
14 - If the Pressure-Cooker has been heated with
no liquid inside, have it serviced at a SEB
Approved Service Centre.
