Summary
This instruction manual explains control commands from external equipment such as personal
computers to control “MC-980”. Please refer to “Output data format” about output data of
measurement result.

Preparation for connection
1. Connect equipment to PC
Connect equipment to PC by USB cable.
2. Communication setting on PC
Setup PC communication Signal speed, Data bit length, Parity, Stop bit and Flow control.
It is necessary to install device driver.

MC-980 is operated on 8 statuses.
Status x system start-up
Status 0 non-PC-Mode (Normal Mode)
PC-Mode Status 1 PC-Mode / preparing setup
PC-Mode Status 2 PC-Mode / completed setup
PC-Mode Status 3 PC-Mode / preparing setup (for extension mode)
PC-Mode Status 4 PC-Mode / completed setup (for extension mode)
PC-Mode Status 5 PC-Mode / setting zero point
(continues until completing set to zero point)
PC-Mode Status 6 PC-Mode / measuring body weight and impedance
PC-Mode Status 7 PC-Mode / displaying measurement result
(continues until stepping off a platform)

Attention
Some commands are not accepted according to status.
After it turns on power, the equipment is in the state of “Status 0” (non-PC-Mode).
Send “M1” (status change command to PC-Mode) from a host, and then the equipment changes to
“Status 1” (PC-Mode)
