Unpacking your phone
In the box you wil l fi nd:
- the cordl ess handset (two handset s with a T win system, three wit h a
T ri ple system and four with a Quad system ).
- the base unit
- two rechargeabl e batt ery cells for each handset.
- a batter y compar tment cover for each handset.
- a telephone line cable for the base unit .
- a mains power lead and adapter for the base unit .
- charger pods, each with an att ached mains power lead and adapter ,
for mult ihandset system.

Chargi ng batter ies for the fi rst tim e
Befor e you st art to use your telephone make sure that all batter ies are
ful ly charged for 16 hours.
Impor t ant note:
This tel ephone is not designed for Emergency c alls when the mains
power fails.
For Emergency calls you should have a basic phone that operates
wit hout mains power , connected to your line so that you can make calls
duri ng a power fai lure.

What the icons mean?

Read F irst Bef ore Use
The base unit and charger pod(s) should be placed on a level surf ace,
in a positi on where:
- the mains adapter plug wil l reach an easily accessible 100 - 240 V

swit ched mains supply socket - never try to lengthen the mains power
cable.
- the base unit’ s telephone line cable wil l reach your tel ephone li ne
socket or extension socket (t he charger pod does not have a tel ephone
li ne connection) .
- it is not close to another telephone - this can cause radio inter fer ence.
- it is not close to a sink, bath or shower , or anywhere else where it
might get wet.
- it is not close to other electr ical equipment - fri dges, washing
machines, micr owave ovens, fl uorescent light s, televi sions etc.
- it is away fr om hot, humid condit ions and str ong sunli ght.
Radio signal s between handset and base unit
T o use your handset and base unit toget her , y ou must be able to
maint ain a radio li nk between them. Be aware that any lar ge met al
ob jec t s, lik e a refrig era tor , a mirro r , filin g ca bin et, etc , b etw ee n th e
handset and the base unit may block the radio signal . Other solid
str uctur es, like wall s, may reduce the signal strengt h.
Int erf erence
If the sound quality gets worse as you move around while on a call, thi s
is probabl y caused by int erfer ence between the handset and the base
unit , perhap s because y ou are too near to another phone or other
elect ri cal equipment . Move to a dif fer ent position to clear the
int erf erence. If you do not move, it might cause a short break or your
call may be cut of f.
ECO Mode
Both in Call mode as well as in S tandby mode, the radiat ion
is reduced consider ably as compar ed to standar d, cordless
DECT telephones.
Mains power connection
IMPO RT ANT - The base unit and charger pod must be used wit h the
mains adapters supplied with the unit . Using any other adapter will
resul t in non - compli ance with EN60950, and will invali date any approval
given to this appar atus.

Inst all ati on and Set- up
Fit the rechar geable batt eri es in each handset
1) Inst all the AAA batt eri es (Brand name: HFR, Capacit y: Ni- MH
1.2V/ 400mAh, or Brand name: SANIK, Capacit y: Ni -MH 1.2V/400mAh)
int o handset in accordance with the polari ty marked in the batter y
comp art ment.
2) Close the batter y compar tment cover , sli ding it into place and
pressi ng fir mly to make sure it is secure.

Befor e you use the cordless handset for the fi rst time, it ’s impor t ant to
charge the batter ies ful ly .
Leave the handset on the charging cradl e for 16 hours.
The batter y charge symbol will bli nk when you’re charging an empty
ba ttery .
If you think that the symbol isn’t showing the corr ect batt ery charge
level , fi rst check that the handset is corr ectl y positioned in the charging
cradl e.
If you’r e sure that it is, remove and ref it the batt eri es. Please note that
it ’s normal for the mains adapter to become warm this doesn’t indicat e a
faul t.
CAUTION:
Use only the power supply that came with thi s unit. Using other power
suppli es may damage the unit.

Y our T elephone Oper ations
Swit ching on/of f
Press and hold the HANG - UP/EXI T button for more than 2
seconds to switch on/of f the handset in idl e mode.
** Y ou can swit ch the handset of f and save batter y charge.
Notes: When the handset is OFF , it cannot be used for making calls
incl uding emergency c alls. There wil l be no ri nging during an incomi ng
call . T o answer a call , you will need to switch it back on. It may t ake
some tim e for the handset to re -est abli sh a radi o link wit h the base unit .
T o lock/unl ock the keypad
Press and hold the ST AR key for 1 second to lock/unl ock
the k eypad in idl e mode.
Note: Incomi ng calls can sti ll be answered even if the keypad was
locked.
Set time and date
Note: If you subscri be to the Caller Display servi ce, the ti me and date
wil l be set automati call y when you receive a c all, but you may sti ll need
to set the correct year .
1. Press MENU key to enter menu selecti on.
2. Press the Navigat ion key to select CLOCK&ALARM and then press
OK key to select.
3. Press OK key to select DA TE/TI ME. The last stored date is
displ ayed. Enter the current date (YY- MM- DD), press OK, then enter the
time (HH-MM) .
4. Press the Navigat ion key to select AM or PM (if the time is in 12
HOURS form at) and then press OK key to confi rm. A confir mati on beep
is played.
Change your handset’s name
1. Press MENU key to enter menu selecti on.
2. Press the Navigat ion key to select PERSONAL SET and then press
OK key to select.
3. Press the Navigat ion key to select HANDSET NAME and then press
OK key to select. The curr ent handset name is displ ayed.
4. Press BACK key to delet e the character s one by one.
Enter the new name (m aximum 10 charact ers) and press OK key to
confi rm. A confir mati on beep is played.
Change the display language
1. Press MENU key to enter menu selecti on.
2. Press the Navigat ion key to select PERSONAL SET and then press
OK key to select.
3. Press the Navigat ion key to select LANGUAGE and then press OK
key to select.
4. Press the Navigation key to your desir ed language and press OK key
to confir m. A confir mati on beep is played.
** Once the display language is set, the opti on menus on the handset
wil l swit ch to display in the selected language immedi ately .
Make and answer calls
Make a call
Pre dia lling
Dial the number (maxi mum 24 digit s) and then press T ALK
key .
Dire ct dia lling
Press T ALK key to take the line and then dial the number
(maxi mum 24 digit s).
Ca ll fro m re dia l lis t
Press Redial key in idle mode.
Press the Navigat ion key to an entr y in the redial list and
then press T ALK key .
Ca ll fro m th e ca ll lo g
Press CALL LOG (UP) key in idle mode.
Press the Navigat ion key to an entr y in the call list and then
press T ALK key .
Note: Y ou need to subscribe to Caller Line Identi ficat ion service to be
able to see the caller ’s number or name in the call log.
Call fr om the phonebook
Press PHONEBOOK (DOWN) key in idle mode.
Press the Navigat ion key to an entr y in the phonebook and
then press T ALK key .
Answer and end a call
1. When the phone ri ngs, press T ALK key .
2. T o end a conversati on, press HANG - UP/EXIT key .
W arni ng: When the handset rings during an incoming call, please do not
hold the handset too close to your ear as the volume of the ringi ng tone
may damage your hearing.
Impor tant note:
Y ou can simply place the handset back on it s base st ati on or charger
pod to end the call .
Make sure that you have not deactivat ed the auto hang -up featur e.
Adjust the earpi ece volume
Duri ng a call , press the Navigati on key to select fr om VOLUME 1 to
VOLUME 3.
Mute/ unmute micr ophone
When the micr ophone is muted, the handset displays MUTE ON, and
your caller cannot hear you.
Duri ng a call , press the MUTE key to turn on/of f the micr o -
phone.
Paging
The paging featur e enables you to locat e a missi ng handset if the
handset is in range and cont ains charged batter ies.
Press HANDSET LOCA TO R key located at the back of the
base stat ion. All the regist ered handsets st art to ri ng.
Once retr ieved, press any key on the handset or the HAND -
SET LOCA TO R key again to end the pagi ng.
Ca ll wa iting
If you have subscri bed to Call W ait ing servi ce, the earpi ece will emit a
beep tone to infor m you that ther e is a second incoming call. The
number or name of the second call er wil l also be displayed on your
phone if you have subscri bed to Call er Line Ident if icati on service (CLI) .
Please cont act y our network provider for more infor mati on on this
servi ce.
Using your phonebook
Y our phone can store up to 50 phonebook memories. Each phonebook
entr y can have a maximum of 24 digi t s for the phone number and 12
charact ers for name.
How to enter character s?
When you select a fiel d in which you can enter text, you can enter the
let ter s that are print ed on the keys by pressi ng the relevant key once or
several ti mes.
For example, press 2 once to insert the let ter A, press 2 twi ce to insert
the lett er B, and so on.. . S paces and other symbols can be enter ed
u s i n gt h e1o r0k e y .
S tor e a cont act in the phonebook
1. Press MENU key to enter menu selecti on.
2. Press the Navigat ion key to select PHONEBOOK and then press OK
key to select.
3. Press OK key again to enter NEW ENTRY .
4. Enter the name of the cont act (maxi mum 12 character s). T o edit ,
press BACK key to delet e the last charact er enter ed. Press OK key to
confi rm the name entr y .
5. Enter the number of the contact (maxi mum 24 digit s) and then press
OK key to confir m. A confir mation beep is played.
** Y ou cannot store a new phonebook entr y when the memory is full . In
thi s case, you have to delete existi ng entri es to make space for new
entr ies.
** When stor ing the number , enter the ful l number including the STD
(ar ea) code if you subscri be to caller display , other wise it will not display
the name when there is an incomi ng call.
Access phonebook
1. Press PHONEBOOK (DOW N) key in idle mode to browse the
phonebook entri es. Alt ernat ivel y , you can press the MENU key , to
displ ay PHONEBOOK and then press OK key to select .
2. Press the Navigati on key to select LIST and then press OK key to
confi rm. The phonebook entr ies will be listed in alphabetical order , and
you can press Navigat ion k ey to scroll through the stored entr ies.
3. Press OK key to view the detai ls of the selected entr y .
** Inst ead of pressing the Navigati on key to browse the phonebook
entr ies, you can press the numeri c key corr esponding to the fir st let ter
of the entry you wish to locate. For example, pressi ng 2 wil l show the
entr ies st arti ng wit h A. Pressing 2 again wil l show the entri es star ti ng
wit h B, and so on...
Modif y a phonebook entr y
1. Press MENU key to enter menu selecti on.
2. Press the Navigat ion key to select PHONEBOOK and then press OK
key to select.
3. Press the Navigat ion key to select EDIT ENTRY and then press OK
key to select.
4. Press the Navigation key to select an entr y to edit and then press OK
key . The curr ent name is displayed. Edit the name and then press OK
key to confir m.
5. Edit the number and then press OK key to confir m. A confi rmat ion
beep is played.
Delet e a phonebook entry
1. Press MENU key to enter menu selecti on.
2. Press the Navigat ion key to select PHONEBOOK and then press OK
key to select.
3. Press the Navigati on key to select DELETE and then press OK key
to select.
4. Press the Navigation key to select an entr y to delete and then press
OK k ey .
5. Press OK key again to c onfir m. A confi rmat ion beep is played.
Delet e all entr ies fr om the phonebook li st
1. Press MENU key to enter menu selecti on.
2. Press the Navigat ion key to select PHONEBOOK and then press OK
key to select.
3. Press the Navigat ion key to select DELETE ALL and then press OK
key to select.
4. Press OK key again to c onfir m. A confi rmat ion beep is played.
Dir ect access memory
There are 2 dir ect access memori es (Keys 1 & 2) in additi on to the
phonebook memory . A long press on the keys in idle mode will
automat ically dial the stor ed phone number .
Add/edi t dir ect access memory
1. Press MENU key to enter menu selecti on.
2. Press the Navigat ion key to select PHONEBOOK and then press OK
key to select.
3. Press the Navigat ion key to select DIRECT MEM. and then press OK
key to select.
4. Press the Navigat ion key to select KEY 1 or KEY 2 and then press
OK key . The stored name is displayed, or NO NUMBER if it is empty . If
ther e is no number stored for the select ed key or if you want to change
the name or number current ly stor ed, press MENU key to enter dir ect
memor y menu to add/edi t the name or number .
5. Press the Navigat ion key to select EDIT NUMBER and then press
OK key to select. The displ ay shows the curr entl y stor ed name, or
ENTER NAME if ther e is n o number stored. Edit or enter the name you
want and then press OK key . The displ ay shows the curr entl y stored
number , or ENTER NUMBER if there is no number stor ed. Edit or enter
the number you want and then press OK key to confi rm. A confir mati on
beep is played.
Delet e direct access memory
1. Press MENU key to enter menu selecti on.
2. Press the Navigat ion key to select PHONEBOOK and then press OK
key to select.
3. Press the Navigat ion key to select DIRECT MEM. and then press OK
key to select.
4. Press the Navigat ion key to select KEY 1 or KEY 2 and then press
OK key . The stored name is displayed (or NO NUMBER if it is alr eady
empty) .
5. Press MENU key to enter dir ect memory menu.
6. Press the Navigati on key to select DELETE and then press OK key
to select. Press OK key again to confi rm. A confir mati on beep is played.
Us ing th e red ial list
The redial list stor es the last 5 numbers dialed. A maximum of 24 digit s
can be displ ayed for each entry .
Access redial li st
1. Press Redi al button in idle mode and press Navigat ion key to browse
the redial list . The last number dialed will appear fi rst in the redial list .
2. Press OK key to view the detai ls of the selected entr y .
Save a redi al number into the phonebook
1. Press Redial key in idl e mode to go to the redi al li st.
2. Press the Navigation key to select an entr y .
3. Press MENU key to displ ay SA VE NUMBER, then press OK key to
displ ay ENTER NAME. Enter the name of the cont act (maximum 12
charact ers) and then press OK key to save the entry , and ret urn the
displ ay to the redial list .
Delet e a redi al number
1. Press Redial key in idl e mode to go to the redi al li st.
2. Press the Navigati on key to select an entr y and then press MENU
key .
3. Press the Navigati on key to select DELETE and then press OK key
to select.
4. Press OK key again to c onfir m. A confi rmat ion beep is played.
De lete th e red ial list
1. Press Redial key in idl e mode to go to the redi al li st.
2. Press the MENU key .
3. Press the Navigat ion key to select DELETE ALL and then press OK
key to select.
4. Press OK key again to c onfir m. A confi rmat ion beep is played.
Using the call log
T o receive Call er ID you may need to contact your telephone service
provi der , and they will inf orm you also of any charges for it .Cal ler ID let s
you see the phone numbers of your caller s on the handset display ,
befor e you answer and in your Call Log aft erwards. The Call Log stores
the last 10 external calls, whether or not you answered the call, so you
can call them back lat er .
Only the most recent call is saved if ther e are repeat calls fr om the
same number . When the Call Log is ful l, the next new call will repl ace
the oldest entr y . If you’ve got a new call in the Call Log, the Caller
Displ ay icon will appear on the handset display .
If the recei ved number is the same as one in your phonebook, the name
fr om the phonebook wil l displ ay as well as the number .
