Procedure 27.4:
Setting Up a Samba Server
To set up a Samba server, do the following:

Prepare the Samba server:

Start YaST as root.

Install the samba package.

Create a directory (for example, /srv/share).

Create the server conguration:

Select Network Services > Samba Server.

Select one of the workgroups or enter a new one (for example, Penguin).

Check Primary Domain Controller (PDC)

Select During Boot if the Samba service should be started every time your
computer boots. Otherwise select Manually.

Activate Open Port in Firewall if you use a rewall.

Create your Windows share:

Change to the Shares tab and click Add.

Enter a name and description. The Share Name is used for accessing the share
from your clients. Share Description describes the purpose of the share.

Select your path (for example, /src/share).

Proceed with OK.

Activate Allow Users to Share Their Directories.
