HOW TO USE HMS MULTIMEDIA CARTRIDGE?
If you have got a first HMS multimedia cartridge with your HMS-362TV, you should attach the cartridge
to the main unit, before switching the unit on, according to below procedure:
1. Remove the fake cartridge by pressing (1) and moving the fake cartridge away in direction (2)
2. When the cartridge rail is disengaged from main unit sliding rail, move up then remove the
fake cartridge.
3. Position your HMS cartridge on top of the (3) cavity. Move gently in either direction 4 or
direction 5 until the cartridge falls in the rail.
4. Then push in (5) direction until you hear a light “click”.
To remove the cartridge, first switch off the main unit; repeat the same procedure: push (6) then slide
in direction (7) and move it up to eject and store away the HMS cartridge.

STEP 1CONNECTION TO A TV SET
HDMI A/V (Composite video and 2CH AUDIO)
Video component and 2CH AUDIO (YUV + Stereo RCA) Antenna cable
1. Switch on your TV set and select the correct Audio-Video input (AV) to which your HMS-
362TV is connected (HDMI, Composite, Component)
2. Connect the supplied mains adapter to your HMS-362TV
3. Switch on the toggle switch located on the rear panel.
4. Press the Power button from the front panel or from the supplied remote control (make sure
that the batteries are installed).
5. Wait for your HMS-362TV to complete the initialization (about 10-15 seconds, during which a
black screen will appear then disappear)

STEP 2 – INITIALIZING THE MULTIMEDIA
CARTRIDGE
NOTE: HMS multimedia cartridges are shipped already initialized. This step is not necessary except if
you have a non-initialized HMS multimedia cartridge or when prompted by HMS-362 to do so. This
procedure will erase all records and data of the HMS cartridge!
When you switch on your HMS-362TV, the following dialog box will be displayed.
Select OK to begin the step of formatting, you will thus choose the size of your partitions.
NOTE
By performing a formatting, this will erase the whole content and the data from the hard
disk. Please format the hard disk after saving the content and the important data.
The above dialog box cannot be displayed on your computer if it is connected with an HDMI cable.
In this case, please try again by connecting the TV set with a RCA cable.
TIMESHIFT buffer disk capacity
1. Press ▲, to set the buffer time of the DELAYED RECORDING from 1 to 4 hours.
2. Press the button and select Next by pressing the ENTER button or the OK button on the
front panel.
NOTE : The hard disk space selected for the DELAYED RECORDING buffer can only be used for the
DELAYED RECORDING.

Partition multimedia Cartridge space
1. Press ▲, ▼ to select the capacity in a multimedia cartridge.
2. Press the ► button and select Next by pressing the ENTER button.
NOTE : Please refer to the explanation of the file system before starting this section.
Performing the formatting
1. Press the button and select Format by pressing the ENTER button or the OK button on the
front panel and the formatting will start.
2. Select OK by pressing the ENTER button. Formatting is complete.
NOTE: Please do not format your computer again. HMS-362TV will consider it as a new HARD DISK if
it is connected.

STEP 3 – Initial configuration
When you have initialized the HMS multimedia cartridge, you can set the language, the time or LAN.
The following dialog box of the initial configuration will be displayed.
1. Select your language by pressing the ▲, ▼ and ENTER buttons to confirm.
2. Select your area with the buttons , ▼ and «ENTER» to validate.

3. To begin the auto scan of the channels, select OK and press « ENTER ».
This progress display will be displayed.
4. Select OK and press, «ENTER». Select cancel and press «ENTER» if you want to delete the
settings.
5. Set date and time by pressing the numerical buttons and the ▲, ▼ buttons then press ENTER
to confirm.

6. Select DHCP IP (Auto) or Fix IP (Manual) according to the IP status by pressing the ▲, ▼ and
press ENTER to confirm.
o If you select DHCP IP (Auto) the IP address will be set according to your network DHCP
Select Cancel if you do not want any available network or if you do not want to set it up now.
o Select Fix IP (Manual), set LAN manually according to your network by pressing the numerical
keys or the ▲, ▼ buttons then press ENTER to confirm.
7. Select OK and press ENTER when you are prompted to do so. Select Cancel and press
ENTER if you want to cancel the settings.
NOTE: Please refer to the network settings explanation of the complete manual to get more
information. The above dialog box cannot be displayed on your TV set if it is connected with an HDMI
cable. In this case, please try again by connecting the TV set with a RCA cable.

STEP 4 WATCHING CHANNELS
Once the first time installation is completed, user can now watch all the receive channels form the
HMS-362TV.
Use numeric keypad 0-9, a message box will appear on the upper right screen with the selected
channel then press OK to change channel.
You can also use UP/DOWN to change channels.

STEP 5 HOW TO RECORD
NOTE: You must have a multimedia cartridge to be able to use this function
Before recording, user may select firstly work directory in device list.
Select Setup in the main page then select Record tab. Select record device and press « ENTER ».
Choose in the device list the recording directory (HDD or USB).
CARTRIDGE: to stock the records in the multimedia HMS cartridge.
USB : to stock the records in the USB device connected to the HMS-362TV.
1. Press “REC” button to start recording when program is playing, “REC” icon is displayed on
screen, left side up, at the start of the recording.
2. To stop recording press Stop button on the remote control.

3. To watch the recorded programs select BROWSER on the main page, then select
« Cartridge », “HDD1” and then «My recordings», then press ENTER to watch the recorded
video.
Set a Schedule event
To set a schedule event select « Timer » in the main page or press Timer button on the remote
control. The schedule event page will appear.
1. Select « Add a new schedule » and press « ENTER »

2. Choose the source of the record (DTV, Video).
3. Choose the date and the time of the record.
4. Choose the length
5. Choose the repeat frequency of the schedule event
- Once - Everyday
- Mon-Fri : Monday to Friday - Mon-Sat : Monday to Saturday
- Sun : Sunday - Mon : Monday
- Tue : Tuesday - Wed : Wednesday
- Thu : Thursday - Fri : Friday
- Sat : Saturday
6. Choose the device (Hdd or USB)
7. Choose the quality of the record (HQ, SP, LP, EP, SLP)
8. Press « ENTER » a confirmation message will appear, if the settings are right then select
Confirm and pres “ENTER”.
NOTE: You can use the key “F1” of the remote control to reach directly the EPG screen (Electronic
Guide of the Programs)

STEP 6 – Recording from a decoder
NOTE: You must have a multimedia cartridge to be able to use this function
Connection to an Audio/Video device (Satellite, TNT, cable decoder, VCR, …)
A/V (Composite video and 2CH AUDIO)
1. Press the button on your remote control.
2. Select Video by pressing the ◄, ►buttons and press the ENTER button on the remote
control.
3. Press the DTV/AV button to select the A/V source that you want to register. Each time you
press this button, the A/V source changes:

Each source is displayed in the upper right corner of your screen.
4. Press the REC button to start recording.
5. Press the PAUSE button if you want to momentarily stop recording.
6. Press the REC button to continue recording.
7. Press the STOP button to stop recording.
If the decoder (terrestrial, satellite or cable) is connected to an AV input of your HMS-362TV, you can
record the TV program. In this case, you must use the up and down Channel button or the remote
control of the decoder to change the channel.

STEP 7 – Playback file from multimedia cartridge
AV files PLAYBACK
NOTE: You must have a multimedia cartridge to be able to use this function
You can read different audio, video and photo files from the installed multimedia cartridge, from the
USB storage device or from the network. Please first check the initializing guide, which is supported
before starting this section.
1. Press the button on your remote control.
2. Select Browser by pressing the ◄, ► buttons and press the ENTER button on the remote
control.
3. Select the audio-video file type you want to play from Music, Movies and Photo mode by
pressing the ◄, ►. The selected type will be enlarged. Only one type of AV file selected will
be displayed on the screen. You can only change the root menu- please go to this root menu
first if you want to change by pressing the ▲, ▼ buttons.
4. Select the requested file by pressing the , ► buttons and press the ENTER button to play
full screen.

PLAYBACK of a recorded track
1. Press the button on your remote control.
2. Select “Browser” in the main page by pressing the , buttons and press the ENTER
button on the remote control.
3. The recorded titles are saved in the HDD1” partition under the “my recordingsfolder
4. Select the requested track from the list of recorded tracks by pressing the ▲, ▼ buttons and
press the ENTER button to play full screen.
PLAYBACK from the network
If your HMS-362 is connected to the lan (Ethernet or WIFI, see step 9), you can reach the shared files
on a PC or a network disc and watch them in your TV. The operative mode is identical to that
explained for the files stored on multimedia cartridge HMS.

STEP 8 – Copying a file
Connection of the HMS-362TV to the PC via the supplied USB port.
You can use the HMS-362TV multimedia cartridge as an external hard disk. Before connecting your
HMS-362TV to your computer, it is recommended that you stop all the functions and that you switch
off the power supply before switching to the Stand-by mode.
1. Connect your HMS-362TV to your computer with a USB cable (the end shape is different such
as the A and B types)
2. After the connection, switch on the appliance
3. Double-click on the ‘My Computer’ icon of your computer and you will see the recently created
driver.
NOTE
• The name of the driver can differ from one computer to another
• Please connect your HMS-362TV to a USB 2.0 port to get a high speed transfer of the file (up to
480Mbps).
4. You can copy the Audio-Video content from a computer to your HMS-362TV operating as an
external hard disk. FAT 32 is limited to a file, which is less than 4GB. If you want to copy a file
whose size is above the limit, please copy it onto the player with a NTFS partition or divide the
file according to the size limit with the appropriate program.
5. Switch off the power supply once the connection to the computer is performed and switch on
again after the connection to the TV set is completed.
6. You can connect a USB cable while your HMS-362TV is operating. You can see the following
OSD menu when your HMS-362TV is connected as an external HARD DISK.
Select OK by pressing the , buttons and press the
ENTER button to confirm.
Select Cancel by pressing the ◄, buttons and press the
ENTER button to cancel.
o Your HMS-362TV will switch to an external hard disk
mode and the dialog box will disappear from the TV
set screen.
o Your HMS-362TV will switch back to a normal mode if
you stop the external hard disk mode by disconnecting
the USB cable. In this case, switch off the power
supply and switch on your HMS-362TV again.

STEP 9 Wireless configuration WIFI
Wireless network (WIFI)
1. The Wifi dongle is an option of the HMS-362TV, please contact your supplier or consult our
website www.e-storex.com acquire the Wifi dongle.
2. Connect the USB WIFI pen (included with the HMS-362TV) to the USB HOST port at the rear
of the product.
Note : The WIFI network is only available if the USB WIFI pen is connected to the unit and if your
WIFI router is lighted up and operational.
3. Press the button and select wireless setup (WIFI) by pressing ENTER button.
4. Choose the profile you wish then press «ENTER».

5. Select « INFRASTRUCTURE » by pressing the ENTER button if you want to use a wireless
router (WIFI) or if you want to be connected at a wireless access point WiFi (with a « box »). If
you use a network interface card WIFI on your PC, select « PEER TO PEER » for a direct
connection with a wireless computer.
6. The name list of the SSID available is displayed
7. ENTER your password according to your security type (WEP for example) throw the keypad of
the remote control. Press « ENTER » to confirm.

8. The settings list will appear, confirm by pressing ENTER button.
9. You will find the IP ADDRESS, the subnet mask and the default gateway if the connection is
OK.
10. Press ENTER, the IP ADDRESS will appear with the WiFi gauge signal.
NOTE
o It is recommended to configure your network only after USB WIFI pen is correctly connected
to the HMS-362TV.
o Please verify that the anti-virus or the firewall do not block the network access to the unit.
You may suffer a momentary disconnection of the AV content when playing by the wireless network
because of the network speed, the input capacity or because of the AV include the HD files. In that
case, please watch them after have copied the files into the hard disk.
