Caution!
Operation
Note: If the connections are
reversed, this will cause a
short-circuit in the unit or
in your fuse box. In that case,
the individual conductors
must be re-identified, and
connected correctly.
You may also install a
power switch in the supply
lead to switch the power ON
and OFF, of course.
The screws on the light
housing and attachment
clamp must be tightened with
a torque of at least 8 Nm
(hand-tight with a spanner).
A splash-proof enclosure
can only be warranted if
the pressure nut screw and
the screws for the back
plate are screwed down
firmly. Any damaged protec-
tive glass must be replaced.
When the sensor-switched
floodlight has been connected
and fastened with the wall
mount, the system can be
switched ON. Two settings can
now be made at the bottom of
the unit.
Switch-off delay
(time setting)
The desired period for the de-
vice to be alight can be adjust-
ed continuously, from about
8 seconds to 35 minutes, at
the bottom of the unit.
Setscrew turned clockwise
to stop equals minimum time,
ca. 8 seconds; counterclock-
wise to stop equals maximum
time, ca. 35 minutes. (The unit
is shipped with a factory set-
ting of the minimum time.)
We recommend setting the
unit to the minimum time
when adjusting the detec-
tion zone or carrying out a
performance test.
Lighting controller
(threshold)
The desired light threshold
can also be adjusted conti-
nuously on the bottom of
the unit, from about 2 lux to
2,000 lux.
Setscrew turned clockwise
to stop equals daytime
operation at ca. 2,000 lux
(ca. 190 footcandles); coun-
terclockwise to stop equals
nighttime operation at ca.
2 lux (ca. 0.2 footcandles).
(The unit is shipped with a
factory setting for daytime
operation.)
When adjusting the detec-
tion zone, and for a perfor-
mance test during daylight,
the setscrew must be
turned clockwise to the
stop.
In order to switch ON the
consumer without a heat
source in the detection zone,
switch the indoor power
switch momentarily. This will
activate the consumer for
the period selected.
The weather can affect the
functioning of the sensor-
switched floodlight. Strong
gusts of wind, rain, snow
or hail can cause switching
errors, because the unit
cannot distinguish the
sudden
changes in tempera-
ture from heat sources.
The Fresnel lens (detector
lens) may be wiped with a
damp cloth (without any
cleanser) if it gets dirty.

under “Installation”.

mounting wall.

If the glass cover breaks,
always fit a new one be-
fore continuing use. Only
replace with special tem-
pered glass in a thickness
of 5 mm.

Do not expose yourself to
the light of the lamp if it
is operated with 10%
increased voltage to the
nominal voltage because
this may cause inflamma-
tion of skin and eyes.
This product already
incorporates an antiglare
protection.
If the function test is perfor-
med in daylight, the twilight
adjustment screw can be set
to night-time mode. No mo-
vement must occur in the
detection zone while the light
on ON and for 60 seconds
after it goes out as this will
prevent the floodlight from
switching OFF. Proceed in
exactly the same way when
switching from night-time
mode to daytime mode.
The detection zone can be
optimized to suit your re-
quirements. And with the
enclosed shrouds, you can
adjust the sensor’s detec-
tion zone, as well. Lens
segments can be covered
up, so as to prevent undesi-
red triggering by passing
cars, pedestrians etc.
