Using the angle grinder
Check if the voltage on the mains is the same as that declared on the
apparatus.
Because this apparatus falls into the Class II category, under normal
usage it does not need to be specially earthed. The cable and the plug
should be in good condition. Check and, if necessary, clear the air-slits
for proper ventilation.
For safety’s sake, the machine must always be used with the side
handgrip placed in one of the 3 fixed positions, or the safety-guard-
handgrip / locked handgrip with the 2 supplied fixing nuts
(see Fig. E-1 or H-2).
Attaching the safety-guard before use is obligatory, and ensures a
higher degree of safety for the user. The direction of the safety-guard is
adjustable and does not require tools (see Fig. B).
Thanks to the electronic arrangement, the machine starts slowly
(a starting limiter). This makes the machine more safe, which is
especially useful in a limited working area due to the absence of the
starting revolutionary movements.
Under some circumstances, fluctuations can occur in the number of
rpm’s as a result of electromagnetic disruptions.

Instructions for use
When an extension cord is used, use an approved cable that is suitable
for the capacity of the machine (see the table below). This is very
important for maintaining the capacity of the motor.
Don’t forget
Before assembling and setting, always pull out the plug.
Attaching the safety-guard (Fig.A-4):
NEVER use the machine WITHOUT having first attached the safety-
guard.
The SPIT angle grinder is sold without the safety-guard attached.
Attach the safety-guard as follows:
1. Place the apparatus on its back, with the spindle facing upwards.
2. Open the safety-guard’s spring clip (Fig. A-1) and place the bolt
pins that are on the inside of the spring clip against the slots of
the neck of the gear box (Fig. A-2).
3. Turn the safety-guard 270° (Fig. A-3).
4. Close the spring clip (Fig. B-4).
