Important Safety Instructions
Before you use this device for the first time, please read the following notes
in this manual and heed all warnings, even if you are familiar with handling
electronic devices. Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference. If
you sell or pass this device on to another person, it is imperative that you
also hand over this manual.
Operating Environment
Position the device on a stable, even surface and do not place any objects
on the device. The device is not for use in environments with a high
temperature or humidity (e.g. bathrooms), and must be kept free of dust.
Operating temperature and humidity: 5°C to 35°C, max. 85% RH
Always make sure that:
- no direct heat sources (e.g. heating) can affect the device;
- no direct sunlight or artificial light reaches the device;
- contact with spray and dripping water and abrasive liquids must be
avoided and the device should never be operated near water, and it
must especially never be immersed (do no place any objects filled
with liquids such as vases or drinks near the device);
- never place the device in the immediate vicinity of magnetic fields
(e.g. loudspeakers);
- do not place any fire sources (e.g. burning candles) on or near the
device;
- do not introduce any foreign bodies into the device;
- the device should not be subject to any sharp temperature changes;
- the device should not be subject to excessive shocks and vibrations.
Cables
Always hold cables by the plug and never pull on the power cable itself.
Never hold the power cord with wet hands as this may cause a short circuit
or electric shock. Never place the device, heavy objects or furniture on the
cable and take care that the cord does not become trapped, especially at
the plug and sockets. Never make knots in the cable and do not tie it
together with other cords. All cables should be positioned so that nobody
can trip over them or be obstructed by them. Do not use any adapter plug
or extension cable that do not meet the required safety standards.

Maintenance and care
Repair is required when this device has been damaged in any way, for
example, when cables or housing are damaged, when liquids or objects
have entered the housing, when the product has been exposed to rain or
moisture, when the product does not work normally or if the product has
been dropped. If smoke, unusual noises or smells are noticed, power off
the device immediately. In this case the device should not be used further
and should be inspected by authorized service personnel. Please contact
qualified personnel when repair is needed. Never open the housing of the
device, or the accessories. If the housing is opened, your life is in danger
due to electric shock.
Children
Electrical appliances do not belong in the hands of children. Do not allow
children to play with electrical devices when not under supervision.
Children may not be able to comprehend the presence of potential risks.
Batteries can represent choking hazards. Keep batteries out of reach of
children. If a battery is swallowed, seek medical help immediately. Keep the
packaging away from children to avoid the danger of suffocation.
Intended Use
This Mouse Keyboard Set, consisting of wireless keyboard, wireless mouse
and wireless receiver, is an IT device. It may only be used for private use,
not industrial or other commercial purposes. Furthermore, the device may
not be used outdoors or in tropical climates. Only connection cables and
external devices may be used that comply with safety standards and the
electromagnetic compatibility and shielding quality of this device. This
device fulfils all that relates to CE Conformity, relevant norms and
standards. Any changes to the equipment other than the recommended
changes by the manufacturer may lead to the result that these directives
are not met any more. Only use accessories recommended by the
manufacturer.
If you are not using the device within the Republic of Germany, you must
observe the regulations and laws in the country of use.
Batteries
Insert the batteries with the correct polarity and never try to recharge the
batteries and under no circumstances throw them into fire. Do not mix
batteries (old and new or carbon and alkaline, etc.). Remove batteries

when the device is not used for a long time. Non-intended use may cause
explosion and danger to life.
Respect the environment. Old batteries do not belong in with the domestic
waste. They must be handed in to a collection point for old batteries.
RF interface
Turn the device off when onboard an aircraft, in a hospital, in a surgery
area or near medical electronic equipment. The RF signals may interfere
with the functionality of sensitive devices.
Place the device at least 20cm (8 inch) away from pacemakers, as the RF
signals may interfere with the functionality of the pacemaker.
The transmitted RF signals can cause interference to hearing aids.
Do not place the device with the wireless adapter turned on near flammable
gas or in an explosion-sensitive area (e.g. a paint shop), as the transmitted
RF signals can cause explosions or fire.
The range of the radio wave signals depends on the environmental
conditions.
Conformity
This Mouse Keyboard Set MK10 and the supplied accessories
have been tested and approved for compliance with the basic
and other relevant requirements of the EMC Directive
89/336/EEC, the Low-voltage Directive 73/23/EEC and the
R&TTE Directive 99/5/EC.
Disposal of Old Devices
Devices marked with this symbol are subject to the European
Directive 2002/96/EC. All electric and electronic devices must be
disposed of separately from household waste at established
bodies. Avoid hazards to the environment and dangers to your
personal health by disposing of the device properly. For further
information about proper disposal, contact your local
government, disposal bodies or the shop where you bought the
device.

Installing Hardware
Inserting the Batteries
First insert the batteries into the mouse and keyboard, as shown in figure
below. Take care to insert the batteries into the device observing the
correct polarity (+ and – )

Connecting the Wireless Receiver to the Computer
Next, plug the USB connector of the wireless receiver into a free USB port
on your powered-on computer.
The operating system will detect the new USB device and will automatically
install the corresponding driver. During this one-off procedure the operating
system will show the message: "Found New Hardware" and then will follow
with: „Your new hardware is installed and ready to use.“
The uppermost status indicator on the wireless receiver will now light
green.
Synchronising the Device
The Mouse Keyboard Set is connected to the receiver via a wireless radio
link. The radio channel must be tuned in (synchronised) on first use.
Position the mouse and the keyboard near to the wireless receiver.
1. Press the synchronisation button (14) on the underside of
the keyboard.
2. Press the synchronisation button (8) on the wireless
receiver.
3. Press the synchronisation button (10) on the underside of
the mouse.
The status indicator (A) now lights steadily and connection
is completed.

If the mouse or keyboard is in use, the status indicator (A) will blink
signalling there is wireless reception. If the devices do not work after this
first synchronization, please repeat steps 1 to 3.
If you replace the batteries in the keyboard or mouse, you must repeat the
synchronisation process.

Installing the Software
Insert the supplied CD-ROM into
the CD-ROM drive of your
computer. The installation process
should start automatically (see
figure right).
If this window does not
automatically appear, double-click
on the "setup.exe" file on the CD-
ROM to start manually.
After a short time the "Install Shield
Wizard" appears. Confirm this
window with Next.
Here you can select the destination
folder for the installation with the
"Browse" button or use the
suggested folder. To proceed click
Next.

During installation, files will be
copied. Please wait.
The installation is completed.
Select "Yes, I want to restart my
computer now." And click on
Finish.
Your computer will restart.
As soon as your computer has restarted, you can configure the optical
mouse and keyboard using the software. To do so, click on one of the icons
in the task bar (below-right on your screen, near the system clock).

Double-clicking on this icon opens the configuration menu for
the optical mouse (See page 11 for details).

This icon indicates that the function "Num Lock" is enabled.
Clicking again on the "Num Lock" button will disable this function
again.
This icon indicates that the function "Caps Lock" is enabled.
Clicking again on the "Caps Lock" button will disable this
function again.
This icon indicates that the function "Scroll Lock" is enabled.
Clicking again on the "Scroll Lock" button will disable this
function again.
Configuring
Configuring the Optical Mouse
Double-click on this icon
in the task bar or open the menu by right-
clicking (see figure below).
"About" gives you information on
the mouse driver.
"Properties of the mouse" opens
the configuration menu for the
mouse.
"Exit" closes the mouse driver.
The Mouse Configuration Menu
Here you can assign a function for
each of the mouse's five buttons.
Click on the radio button
corresponding to the mouse button
(see highlight in the figure) and
select the desired function from the
menu.
By using the "Restore to default"
you can return all settings to
factory default.

Enable changes by clicking the "Apply" button (the window remains open)
or by clicking on the "OK" button (the window closes).
You can use the slide switch (see marking in figure) to set the double-click
speed. If you move the slide switch to the left and enable the function with
the button "Apply", the mouse will react with a slow double-click speed. If
you move the slide switch to the right, you must double-click faster.
Click on the tab "Configuration of the mouse wheel" in the configuration
menu to configure the scroll wheel of the mouse as follows.
Wheel Scroll Speed
Determines the speed with which the scroll wheel moves upwards and
downwards on the screen.
Adjust the Volume
If this function is enabled you can configure the system volume with the
scroll wheel of the mouse. With the slide control you can determine the
degree of volume adjustment per movement.
The other tabs of the menu allow you to make the usual operating system
mouse settings.

Double-click on this icon
in the task bar or open the menu by right-
clicking (see figure below).
"About" gives you information on
the keyboard driver.
"Setting" opens the keyboard
configuration menu.
"Exit" closes the keyboard driver.

The Keyboard Configuration Menu
In this menu you can assign most
of the Hotkey functions on the
keyboard. Some Hotkeys have
unchangeable system functions
assigned, so not all Hotkeys on the
keyboard are listed here. Left-click
on the icon that corresponds to the
Hotkey you want to reassign.
Note: If you right-click on the menu
the window will close without any
changes.
By left-clicking on one of the icons, this
menu will open.
With the top function "Choose a function"
you can select one of the default
programmes. In this example, it is the
"Notepad". By enabling this function with
the "OK" button, the menu closes and
you can comfortably start the Editor
(Notepad) by pressing the corresponding
Hotkey.
This menu will open when you use the
second function "Select a program to run"
and left-click to close on the "Browse"
button. Here you can select any
executable file on the hard disk of your
computer which will be run by pressing
the corresponding Hotkey.
