The handset indicates an incoming call by ringing
and by a display on the screen. P ress the talk key
c to accept the call. When Auto Answ er is ac ti-
vated, simply remov e the handset from the base
station/charging cradle. In idle status, use

activate the menu for setting the call v olume and

Calling Line Identifica tion
When you receive a call, the caller's nu mber will be
displayed o n your handset; the caller's name wi ll
be displayed if it is stored in the directory.
Requirements:
1 Y ou have asked your network pr ovider for the
caller's number (CLIP) to be display ed on your
handset screen.
2 T he caller has asked the network provider for his
number to be identified (CLI).

The answer machine can be operated from the
handset or by using the key on the base station.
The telephone is supplied with a pre -recorded
announceme nt. Y ou can only record your own
announcement messages using the handset.
This pre-recorded announcement is used if no
personal announcement is available.
If the memor y is full, the answer machine switches
itself off automatically. It activates again automat-
ically when yo u delete old m essages.

Setting up the answer machin e
The answer machine has already been preset at
the factory. Make individual settings using the
handset.
Details on how to set a delay time, after whic h the
answer machine is to answer a call, as well as
details on how to set the rec ording length and
activate call screening during the recording, are
available from the Menu tree.
Assigning key 1 for fast access t o the answer
machine (network mailbox)
Simply p ress an d hold key 1 on the handset and
you will be conne cted direc tly to the answer
machine (network mailbox).
Remote operation when on the move
Y ou can check and activate your answer machine
from any other telephone (hotel, pay phone etc.).
Requirements:
u Y ou have set a sy stem PIN other than 0000.
u T he phone you are using for remote
operation has touch tone dialling (DTMF),
i.e. you hear different t ones when you press
the keys.

Hardware reset
Disconnect the power cord from the base sta tion.

Repeater mode
With a repeater you can increase the range of your
base st ation. Y ou will n eed to ac tivate re peater
mode. Repeater mode and Eco mode or Eco

Care
Wipe down the base station and handset with a
damp cloth (no solvents) or an antistatic cloth.
Never use a dry cloth. This can cause static.

If the handset should come into contact with
liquid:

u P a t all parts dr y, then place the handset with
the battery compartment open and the
keypad facing down in a dr y , warm place
for at least 72 ho urs (not in a microwave,
oven etc.).
u Do not swit ch on the hand set again until it

able to use it again.

The transmi ssion pow er of your tel ephone is
reduced automati cally:
The handset's transmissi on power is reduced
depending on the distance to the base station.
The transmission power on the base station is
reduced to virtually zero when only one handset
is registered and the handset is in the base
station.
Y ou can reduce the transmission p ower of the
handset and base station even more by using
Eco Mode/Eco Mode+:
u Ec o Mode: 80% transmiss ion power
reduction in standby mode and during a call
(the range of the base station is reduced).
u Ec o Mode+ : 100% transmission power
deactivation in standby mode (top left
display icon ½ ). Press and hold the t alk

if the base station can be reached.

Without prejudice to any claim the user (customer)
may have in relation to the dealer or retailer , the cus-
tomer shall be granted a manufacturer's Guarantee
under the conditions set out below:
u I n the case of new devices and their components
exhibiting defects resulting from manufac turing
and/or material faults within 24 months of pur-
chase, Giga set Communica tions shall, at its own
option and free of charge, either replace the device
with another device reflecting th e current state of
the art, or repair the said de vice. In respect of parts
subject to wear and tear (including but not limited
to, batteries , keypads, casing), this warranty shall
be valid fo r six months from the date of purchase .
u This Guarantee shall be invalid if the device defect
is attributable to improper treatment and/or fail-
ure to comply with information contained in the
user guides.
u This Guarantee shall not apply to or extend to ser v-
ices perform ed by the authorised dealer or the
customer themselves (e. g. installation, configura-
tion, software downloads). User guides and any
software suppl ied on a separate data medium shall
