● For dry ironing, the water reservoir can
be left empty.
-
Use the steam regulator to select the
desired steam output mode. As soon as
the steam button is pressed, steam is
emitted.
-
The steam function may also be used
with the iron held vertically, to remove
creases or wrinkles from fabrics.
-
Before starting to iron, the sole plate
should be cleaned by passing it over a
clean cotton cloth, while using the steam
jet function; this helps to flush out any
dirt residues or lint particles trapped
inside the openings in the sole plate.
-
You can now start ironing.
● If, during ironing, the water reservoir
becomes empty, simply re-fill it as
described in the section ‘Filling with
water’. Always replenish the water in
good time, whenever the 'water refill'
indicator light starts flashing.
● Turn the boiler and the iron off after use.
Replace the iron on its rest on the steam
generator and remove the plug from the
wall socket.
General care and cleaning
● Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is
disconnected from the power supply and
has completely cooled down.
● To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
clean the appliance with water and do
not immerse it in water.
● Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning
solutions.
-
If necessary, the appliance may be wiped
with a dry lint-free cloth.
Iron
-
Starch, fat and other deposits on the sole
plate may be removed with a woollen
cloth soaked in a vinegar/water solution.
To empty any water remaining in the
reservoir
After use, any remaining water must be
removed from the reservoir.
-
Remove the water reservoir.
-
Pour out any remaining water through
the filler opening.
-
Replace the reservoir in the generator.
Removing any remaining water from the
boiler
After ironing, any residual water should be
removed from the boiler; this will extend
the lifespan of your appliance.
-
After ironing, remove the plug from the
wall socket and allow the appliance to
cool down for at least two hours.
-
Place the iron on its rest on a stable and
durable surface.
-
Take off the empty water reservoir.
-
Hold the steam generator over a suitable
sink or basin.
-
Turn the safety valve anti-clockwise.
-
Let the residual water inside the boiler
drain out.
-
Replace the safety valve; ensuring that it
is correctly and safely fitted.
-
Never use the open safety valve for
refilling.
Anti-scale filter
Depending on the water quality in your area
as well as frequency of use, the anti-scale
filter should be replaced at regular intervals.
Guidelines assuming 2-3 hours of use per
week:
soft water - after 6 months
medium-hard water - after 4 months
hard water - after 3 months
Should you be unsure about the hardness of
the water in your area, please enquire at the
relevant local authority department.
If the anti-scale filter is used up, a new filter
should be installed immediately. Although
you will be able to use the steam generator
even without an anti-scale filter installed,
lime deposits may build up on the heating
element. It is therefore important to arrange
for a replacement as soon as possible.
