This is a new generation of Sagem Communication rece iver dedicated to Digital Terrestrial Telev ision and is
equipped with a hard dis k. With this technological advantage , you can make digital v ideo recordings and with
the PVR6600T, you can also manage ev en print, photo albums.
Once you have connected your re ceiver, you will be able to enjoy all the services.
You can update your receiver if new functions or services become available.
The Sagem Communicatio n Receiver follows a continuous de velopment strategy. There fore, we reserve the
right to make changes and improvements to the product described in this user manual without any prior
notice.

2-1 SAFETY
Use of the Receiver is sub ject to safety rules design ed to protect users a nd their environment.
Furthermore, to gain full s atisfacti on and maximum perf ormance from your Receiver, th e following mus t be applied::
- Install the rece iver indoors away from sunlight and rain: Avoid extreme ly hot or cold temperat ures. Place the receiver and mains unit
away from sources of heat such as radiator s or gas/electr ic heaters. Do not place i ncandescent obj ects such as candles close to the
receiver. I t is advisable t o unplug the ant enna during thun derstorms. Ev en if the rece iver and telev ision are unplu gged, they can still
be damaged by ligh tning.
- Place the r eceiver and mains unit in a dry and well-ventilated place.
- Protect the r eceiver from damp: Place the receiver and mai ns unit away fro m rain, damp and dust. Do no t place plan ts nearby to
avoid any spl ashes when the y are watered. I f liquid seep s into the receiver or power adapter, unplug them fro m the power socket and
contact your dist ributor.
- Avoid violent shocks: Never us e the receiver if it is damage d. Always place you r receiver on a flat surface wh ere there is n o risk of
being bumped or knoc ked. Never open the recei ver or power unit! There i s a risk of electric shock . All work on the receiv er must be
carried o ut by qu alified pe rsonnel.
- Only use the power unit t hat is supplie d: Connect it to the mai ns in compliance with the installat ion instructio ns in this booklet and
the indication s written in th e identificat ion label tha t is fixed on the app liance (volta ge, current, f requency of the el ectricity n etwork). By
precaution, in case of dang er, the power adapt ers act as a cut -off device for the 230V sup ply. They must be located close to the
appliance and be eas y to access.
- Do not place anything on top of the receiv er (as it would restr ict ventilation) : The ventilati on slots located on the casing prevent your
receiver fro m overheating. Do no t place any objec ts such as a piece of cloth or sheet of pa per on top of these slots. If you p lace the
receiver in a compar tment, leave a spac e of at least 10 cm each sid e and 20 cm in front and behi nd the receiver.
- Place the receiver out of reach of children: B atteries are easily swal lowed by you ng children. Therefore, d o not leave the remote
control unitwi thin their r each.
- Fuse: The plug of th e AC lead contains a fuse. I f you need to change the f use, always use the ty pe of fuse indicat ed on the plug.
2-2 CARE AND SAFETY INFORMA T ION
Interference: Do not pla ce the receiver near ap pliances that may cau se electromagnetic interf erence (for example , loudspeakers). This
could affect receiver oper ation and dist ort the pict ure or sound.
Hard disk: This unit contains a hard di sk. Please wait for the unit to go i nto standby mode befor e unplugging an d moving it..
2-3 ENVIRONMENT
Preservation o f the environment is a n essential concer n of Sagem Communicati on. The desire of Sag em Communication i s to operate
systems observin g the environmen t and consequently it has deci ded to integrate environmental performances in the life cycle of its
products, from manu facturing to commis sioning, use and eli mination.
2-3-1 PACKAGING
The presence of the log o (green dot) means that a contribution i s paid to an approve d national organisa tion to improve packagi ng
recovery and r ecycling infrastru ctures.
To facilitate r ecycling, please res pect the sorting rules s et up locally for this k ind of waste.
2-3-2 BATTERIES
If your product co ntains batteries, they mu st be disposed of at appr opriate collection poi nts.
2-3-3 THE PRODUCT
The crossed-ou t waste bin stu ck on the product or its accessories means that t he product belongs t o the family of e lectrical and
electronic equi pments.
In this respect, the Eur opean regulations as k you to dispose of i t selectivel y:

3-1 ACCESSORIES SUPPLIED
Your receiver is supplied with the follo wing parts:
• 1 remote control unit
• 2 batteries (AAA) for the remote control unit
• 1 Scart lead for connection to the television
• 1 AC/DC adapter and power cable
• 1 user manual
3-2 TERRESTRIAL ANTENNA
Very often, to get the bes t reception, you may simply need to adjust your antenna. Alternat ively, you can
connect a seco nd antenna to y our system. For further informatio n, please contac t your specia lised distributor.
3-2-1 Standard outdoor antenna :
It is preferable to use an outside roof antenna that is designed to receive UHF chann els between 21 and 69.
However:
• If your building is equipped with an old antenna model, digita l channels that are transmitte d at high fre-
quencies may be diffic ult or even impossible to receive. The problem can only be resolved by cha nging
the antenna.
• If your building is equipp ed with an antenna system th at contains a filt er and channel selector , reception
will most probably not work c orrectly . In this case, you will n eed to contact the authorities in charge of the
building.
• Some antennas directed to wards an analogue transmitter must be re-adjusted towards a digital TV trans-
mitter .
• If you encounter recep tion problems, you can also try placing the antenna at dif ferent heigh ts.
3-2-2 Indoor antenna and antenna installed on a balcony or window :
In ideal reception conditions, this type of anten na is sufficient. However, a few note s and tips are given below:
• Use an ant enna that is de signed to receive channels 2 1 to 69.
• Install the antenna close to the window and direct it towards the digital TV transmitter .
• If possible, use an antenna with an amplifier .

4-1 REMOTE CONTROL UNIT
Do not forget to point th e remote control unit towards the re ceiver when using it.
The remote control unit’s functions in PHOTO MODE are explained separate ly see “Function of the
remote control unit keys in PHOTO MODE”, page 17.
4-2 BA TTERIES
The remote control unit requires two batteries (AA A) to operate.
The diagram in the battery compartment indicates how to install them.
The batteries supplied are not rechargeable.

To access, Top Up TV chann els, you may turn the receive r and place the smard card as indicated below.
5-2 CONNECTIONS
Before installing your Receiver, please check that your delivery is complete: user manual, remote control unit,
batteries (X2), Scart lead and AC/DC adap ter.
Please ensure that the appliances to be connected together (Receiver, TV, VCR...) are unplugge d before
making any connect ions.
Connect the appliances together as shown in the dia grams and plug them back into the power soc ket.
For optimum quality, conn ect the Scart lead to the TV Sca rt socket that is marked with 3 dots (RGB).

5-3 FIRST INST ALLA TION
After connecting the Rece iver correctly, a first time installation must be carried out. Switch o n your Receiver
(Do not forget to switch on your television at the same time). A welcome screen is displayed.
When the Receiver is ready, press to start the installation.
Select the language and country (UK) with the keys and and validate by pressing .
The receiver auto matically sear ches for the available channels.
If no channels are found, the receiver proposes that you adju st the antenna.
Enter a channel number (consult the list of channels that transmit in your sec tor).
Adjust the antenna until the level and quality sign als become green.
Press to go back t o the channel s earch

6-2-4 Locking and parental c onsent
In USER SETT INGS, se lect LOCK ING.
Receiver lock ing:
Comple tely locks access to the Re ceiver with a c ode. If you s elect YES , you will be pr ompted
to enter y our acce ss code (12 34 by de fault) each time you switch yo ur receiv er on.
Channel locking:
Enables loc king for al l the channel s. If you sel ect YES, you wi ll be prompted to enter your
access code each time yo u want to l ook at a chann el.
Channel to lock:
To lock so me chann els only. Y ou will be p rompted to enter yo ur access co de each tim e you
want to look at a locke d channel.
Level:
to lock pr ogrammes t hat are rated at higher par ental co nsent t hat the v alue enter ed. Sele ct

A record on a channel lo cked or a pro gramme rated with an ag e higher than autorized will a ppear only

To create ne w lists (f rom B to H), simply sel ect them, add (CREATE OR MODIFY) or dele te channel s.

6-4-1 Channel search
In RECEIVE R SETTINGS, sel ect CHANNEL SEARCH.
A bar indi cates th e search prog ress.
If channels are found , a window is displayed prompting you to valida te them.
The numbe r of channels in the lis t may be less than the number dis played when sc anning, once the
duplications have been d eleted at th e end of the search pr ocess.
If no channe l has been found, refe r to the se ction Ante nna signal to adjus t the antenn a.

6-4-2 TV, VCR and Home Cinema settings
In RECEIVE R SETTINGS, select VI DEO AND SOUND SETTI NGS.
Use the arrows t o navigate an d select your opt ions then validat e. To select these options, refer to the manuals
for your audio and video equipment.
TV screen format: selection of display mode for your TV set - 4/3 Pan of scan , 16/9, 4/3 letter box.
TV scart standart: selection of video standart (Pal or RGB) for the TV output.
TV RGB output: selection of signal leve l (low, medium, high) for the RGB signals.
AUX scart: selection of video standart (PAL - or S-VIDEO) for the AUX output.
Digital Audio Output: selection of audio stream for the numerical audio output. If home cine ma is selected,
when an AC3 audio stream is broadcasted, this stream is sent on the numerical audio output otherwis e it is
the stereo d ata that is sent.
If you are not sure, le ave the d efault setting s (do not change th em).
Do not selec t "HOME CINEMA" mode except if the ampl ifie r connected support t his mode.
6-4-3 Return to the default factory settings
In RECEIVE R SETTINGS, select RESE T FACTORY DEFAULT.
If you val idate this option, all the ch annels and s ettings will be lo st.

8. VIDEO RECORDINGS
Video recorder: Recordings and managing recordings
From 20 to 80 hours of recording are possible, depending on the mod el and hard disk capacity.
It is possible to wat ch one programme while recording another programme.
In the same way, it is possible to watch a programme in deferred mode while recording another programme.
Two recordings cannot be programmed in the same time slot.
Take care than MHEG services (red button) ar e not recorded and also are unavailable during record.
8-1 LIVE MODE / DEFERRE D MODE
The unit automatically saves the previous 30 minutes of the chann el
that is watched. This sliding recording mode can be used to stop live
mode, rewind and review th e programme that was recorde d moments
before.
Press , , and to enter the time shift recording. A
banner with the Deferred /Live time is displayed at the top of the scre en.
8-1-1 Pause
Deferred playback can be stopped using the key . You will then see the deferred playback delay increase
compared to the live programme
8-1-2 Rewind
It is possible to rewind the recording using the key .
You will then see the Deferred/Live delay increase. The rewind speed can be increased (up to 600 times the
normal speed) by pre ssing this key several times. The refore, it is possible to rewind 30 minutes (note: To d o
this, the current prog ramme must have been watched f or at least 30 minutes).
8-1-3 Fast forward
It is possible to fast forward the recordin g using the key . You will then see the Deferred/Live delay
decrease.
The fast forward speed can be increased (up to 600 times the normal speed) by pressing this key several
times. If you remain in fast forwar d, you will finish by reachi ng the live programme.
8-1-4 Play
To play in deferre d mode, simply press the k ey .
8-1-5 Stop
To go back to the live programme, simply press the key .

8-2 IMMEDIA TE RECORDING
To record a live programme, sele ct the channel and press .
You can then change channel wit hout the recording being affe cted.
To stop a recording, press the key .
Access to recording can be locked. To do this, a fter pressing ,
press the key . Highlight the Locking line and select YES.
The locked programme will then be hidden in the programme list. To access the locked program, press B
(COMPLETE LIST) (cf. recording list chapter).
When t he key is pressed s everal tim es, you ca n select a recordin g time in 30-minu te steps with a
maximum duration of 4 ho urs.
8-3 RECORDING PROGRAMMED VIA THE MENU
Press the key then confirm the Recording timers.
Highlight a blank line using and and press . A screen is displayed in which you can s elect the
recording options.
Select the recording frequency:
SINGLE (once per day at the scheduled time).
WEEKLY (once per week at the sch eduled time).
DAILY(MON-FRI) (at the scheduled time, everyd ay from Monday to Friday and every week).
DAILY(MON-SA T) (at the sche duled time, everyday from Mond ay to Saturday and eve ry week).
DAILY(MON-SUN) (at the scheduled time, ev eryday and every week).
Then enter the channel, date and the recording start and end time.
Validate locking if required to restrict access to this recording (cf. Recording list).
Confirm the schedule by pressing key.
To change a recording, enter the reco rding timers menu again. Make th e required changes on the record ing
settings and confirm the schedule.

8-4 RECORDING PROGRAMMED VIA THE PROGRAMME GUIDE
Press the key to access the programme guide screen.
The specific feature of recording via the guide is that you can rec ord
specific programmes inste ad of time slots on chann els. Of course, to be
able to do this , the broadcas ters must giv e the information on the
forthcoming programmes.
Move in the screen and sele ct the channel and pro gramme to be
recorded. Use the A key (red) to display all the programmes on the
various days of the week on the select ed channel.
Press to validate your selection. A timer confirms the programme rec ording.Is poss ible to add margins
or modify the timer in the recordin g timers (see “RECORDING PROGRAMMED VIA THE MENU”, page 12).
Press to cancel a scheduled recording.
To canc el a recording in progress , you must f irstly stop it by going back to live mode and
pressing .
If two consec utive records, on sa me channe l are done on the EP G and the end time of the first is equal
to the beginn ing times of the seco nd they w ill be merge d together.

Select a programme using the keys or . Press to play the
recording.
