Cleaning and maintenance
Pull the mains plug and let the appliance cool down completely before cleaning it.
Do not immerse the appliance in water. Wipe out the base/water tank with a damp cloth.
We recommend washing the cover, the steam trays and the condensate collection basin in
hot water, rinsing thoroughly before drying.
Do not use any abrasive cleaners e.g. scouring powder, scouring sponges, steel wool,
washing soda or bleach.
De-scale the tank after every seventh to tenth use (see instructions below).
De-scaling the water tank
Regular de-scaling is necessary in order to produce steam and to extend the lifespan of
the appliance. The amount of limestone deposit caused will depend on the water hardness
type.
Minimum scale deposit may be removed using a cloth moistened with a little vinegar
essence. Use more vinegar essence for stubborn scale deposits. Then rinse and dry the
appliance completely.
If the base is very badly scaled, ll the water tank with water to the maximum level of the
water level indicator. Add a commercially available de-scaling tablet, connect the appliance
to the power outlet and set the timer at 15-20 minutes. Then clean and dry the appliance
completely.
Steaming chart
The steaming times shown in the chart are only approximate. Times can vary according to
the size of food, quantities in the steam trays, the freshness of foods and personal tastes.
Steaming times apply to the quantities shown in the chart. If not specied otherwise,
all steaming times refer to the use of the bottom tray. Food in the upper trays requires
5-8 minutes longer.
All times shown in the chart apply to their use with cold water.
