• If rechargeable batteries on the device, also set the switch to the NiMH position. The radio is intended for use with nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries (NiMH).
Do not use any other rechargeable batteries in this radio.

• NEVER mix old and new rechargeable batteries. This may cause uneven charging times and reduce service life. Never use rechargeable batteries of dierent types or
capacities together, even if they are new.
• NEVER mix alkaline and rechargeable batteries. Charging alkaline batteries is highly dangerous.
• Your radio uses a number of methods to ensure that nickel metal hydride rechargeable batteries are charged properly and safely. This protects your rechargeable bat
-
teries from overcharging and deep discharge. These protective functions can only work properly when the following notes are observed. Proper charging is particularly
impaired when rechargeable batteries of dierent manufacturers, ages or uneven capacities are used together.
• We recommend purchasing and using all rechargeable batteries to be used in this device together as one set. The rechargeable batteries should always be charged
together. They should not be used for any other applications (even for a short period of time). This warrants that the rechargeable batteries oer best output when the
radio is used.
• We also recommend only using rechargeable batteries by high-quality manufacturers with a capacity of at least 2000 mAh. Proper rechargeable batteries with this
kind of capacity should be able to supply your radio with power for 10 to 20 hours, depending on the volume and operating mode (DAB needs a little less power than
FM does).
• Before using a new set of rechargeable batteries in the radio, ensure that the battery type switch in the battery compartment is set to NiMH. Insert the rechargeable
batteries according to the instructions on the rear of the radio. Connect the mains adapter to an outlet and then to the radio.
• The charging LED flashes green during charging. When the rechargeable batteries are charged completely, the green charging LED stops flashing but continues to be lit.
The duration of charging depends on the rechargeable batteries‘ pre-charge. New rechargeable batteries may already be partially charged at purchase.
