Whenplanningtheinstallationlocation,considerthe
followingpoints:
Thecameraiswaterproof,andappropriatefor
abovedecksmounting.
Whenmountingthecamerainaball-down
position,ensurethatthecameraisinstalledwith
adequatedrainagesothatstandingwaterdoes
notcollectabovethecableglands.Standingwater
willeventuallyseeppastthecableglandsealsand
compromisetheinternalelectronics.
IfthebaseoftheT-Seriescameramustbeleft
exposed,theexitholesmustbesealedwith
amarine-gradeadhesivesuchas3M5200or

equivalent.Useasufcientamountofsealantto
preventpoolingofwaterabovetheglands.Failure
toproperlyinstallorsealtheseglandscouldvoid
thecamerawarranty.
Ensurethecameraisinstalledinalocation
thatwillallowittobeaccessedforregular
periodiccleaning(fresh-waterrinse),inspection
ofmountingpointintegrityandmechanical
soundness,andpreventativemaintenance.
Theunderside(inside)ofthecompartmentor
deckontowhichthecameraismountedmustbe
weather-tight.Youmustensureprotectionfrom
wateringresstocablesandconnections.
Themountingsurfacemustbehorizontal.
Ifyoucannotaccessbothsidesofthemounting
surface,thenyouwillneedtomountthecamera
“topdown”usingtheoptionaltop-downriser/
galvanicisolationkit(A80334).
Ifthemountingsurfaceismetallic(forexample,
steel),thenyouwillneedtomountthecamera“top
down”usingtheoptionaltop-downriser/galvanic
isolationkit(A80334).Theriserprovidesgalvanic
isolationandprotectionfromgalvaniccorrosion.
Fixingsaresuppliedforamountingsurfaceof
upto41mm(1.6in)thick.Athickersurfacewill
requiretheinstallertoprovidealternativexings.
Thecameramountingsurfacemustbeatleastas
largeasthefootprintofthecameraitselftoensure
anadequatesealwiththeO-ring.
Thecamerashouldbemountedashighas
practical,butwithoutinterferingwithanyradar,
navigationalorcommunicationselectronics.
Choosealocationthatwillprovidethemost
unobstructedviewinalldirections.
Choosealocationasclosetothevessel’scenter
lineaspossible.Thisprovidesasymmetricalview
whenlookingforwardoraft.
Selectalocationforthecamerathatisatleast7
cm(2.75in.)fromanymagneticcompass.
Selectalocationthatisatleast1m(3ft)from
devicesthatmaycauseinterference,suchas
motors,generatorsandradiotransmitters/
receivers.
IfinstallinganoptionalJCU,selectalocationfor
theJCUthatisatleast11cm(4.33in.)fromany
magneticcompass.
Cleaningthethermalcamera
Thecamerahousingandlenswillrequireoccasional
cleaning.Raymarinesuggeststhatyoucleanthe
lenswhenimagequalitydegradationisnoticedor
excessivecontaminantbuildupisseen.Cleanthe
interfacebetweentheyokeandbaseoftentoprevent
accumulationofdebrisorsaltdeposits.
Whencleaningthisproduct:
DoNOTwipethelenswindowwithadrycloth,
orwithabrasivematerialssuchaspaperorscrub
brushes,asthiscouldscratchthecoating.
DoNOTuseacidorammoniabasedproducts.
DoNOTpressurewash.
Particularcareshouldbetakenwhencleaningthe
lenswindow,thishasaprotectiveanti-reective
coatingwhichmaybedamagedbyimproper
cleaning.

2.Cleanthecamerabodywithaclean,softcotton
cloth.Youcanmoistentheclothanduseamild
detergentifrequired.
3.Cleanthecameralens.
Rinsethelenswithfreshwatertoremoveall
dirtparticlesandsaltdeposits,andallowto
drynaturally.
Ifanyspotsorsmearsremain,verygentlywipe
thelenswindowwithacleanmicrobreclothor
softcottoncloth.
Ifnecessary,useisopropylalcohol(IPA)ora
milddetergenttoremoveanyremainingspots
ormarks.
Inspectingthethermalcamera
Routinelyinspectthecameraanditsmounting
surfacetoensurethatitisinstalledsecurely,that
thecoatedsurfacesareintact,andthatthereareno
signsofcorrosion.
Whenthecameraispoweredoff,graspitrmlyat
thebaseandconrmitisrigidandsecure.Thenhold
thecameraabovethebaseandconrmitwillrotate
freelyandwithoutnoticeablewobbleorlooseness
aroundthepanbearing.

Althoughthewaterproofratingcapacityofthis
productmeetsthestatedIPXstandard(refertothe
product’sTechnicalSpecication),waterintrusion
andsubsequentequipmentfailuremayoccurifthe
productissubjectedtocommercialhigh-pressure

Raymarineequipmentandaccessoriesconformto
theappropriateElectromagneticCompatibility(EMC)
regulations,tominimizeelectromagneticinterference
betweenequipmentandminimizetheeffectsuch
interferencecouldhaveontheperformanceofyour
system
CorrectinstallationisrequiredtoensurethatEMC
performanceisnotcompromised.
Note:InareasofextremeEMCinterference,
someslightinterferencemaybenoticedonthe
product.Wherethisoccurstheproductandthe
sourceoftheinterferenceshouldbeseparatedby
agreaterdistance.

replacedintheoriginalpositionbeforetheproduct
isused.
Useonlyferritesofthecorrecttype,suppliedby
Raymarineauthorizeddealers.
Whereaninstallationrequiresmultipleferritestobe
addedtoacable,additionalcableclipsshouldbe
usedtopreventstressontheconnectorsduetothe

(azimuth)andvertical(elevation).Bydefault,
mechanicalstabilizationissettoon,whichprovides
thebeston-the-waterperformanceparticularlywhen
thevesselisunderwayandtravelingonrough
waterorinswellconditions.Youcandisableor
enablestabilizationwheneveryouwant.Whenyou
enablefullstabilization(horizontalandvertical),the
StabilizationOn(nowave)iconashes.Itdoes
notdisplaycontinually,sincethisisthenormal
modeofoperation.Ifyoudisablestabilization,the
StabilizationOff(wave)iconremainsonthescreen
