5 GENERAL SAFETY RULES
▪ WARNING: When using petrol tools, basic safety precautions, including the following,
should always be followed to reduce the risk of serious personal injury and/or damage to
the unit.
▪ Read all these instruction before operating this product and retain these instructions for
future reference.
5.1 Training
▪ Read the instructions carefully.
▪ Be familiar with the controls and the proper use of the equipment.
▪ Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the device.
▪ Local regulations can restrict the age of the operator.
▪ Never operate the device while people, especially children, or pets are nearby.
▪ Keep in mind that the operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to
other people or their property.
▪ The operators must receive proper training in the use, adjustment and operation of the
machine, including prohibited operations.
WARNING: Petrol is highly flammable.
Warning: Keep the safety signs clear and visible on the equipment. Replace
the safety signs if they are missing or illegible.
6 ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR FRONT-TINE TILLERS
For your safety and the safety of others, please pay special attention to these precautions:
▪ This front-tine tiller is designed to give safe and dependable service if operated
according to instructions.
▪ Read and understand the owner's manual before operating the front-tine tiller. Failure to
do so could result in personal injury or equipment damage.
▪ Exhaust gas contains poisonous carbon monoxide.
▪ Never run the front-tine tiller in an enclosed area.
▪ The rotating parts are sharp and they turn at high speed. Accidental contact can cause
serious injury.
▪ Keep your hands and feet away from the parts while engine is running.
▪ Stop the engine and disengage the tines clutch before inspection or maintenance of tires.
▪ Disconnect the spark plug cap to prevent any possibility of accidental starting. Wear heavy
gloves to protect your hands from the tines when clearing the tines or when inspecting or
replacing the tines.
6.1 To ensure safe operation
6.1.1 Operator responsibility
▪ Keep the front-tine tiller in good operating condition, operating a front-tine tiller in poor
or questionable condition could result in serious injury.
▪ Be sure all safety devices are in working order and warning labels are in place. These
items are installed for your safety.
▪ Be sure the safety covers (fan cover, recoil starter cover) are in place.
▪ Know how to stop the engine and tines quickly in case of emergency. Understand the use
of all controls.
